Dear Debt Collector People~
I appreciate that we all have a job to do. I even understand some of your points about living within your means (although I do think that there are times when the unexpected happens so a little compassion wouldn't be amiss). Anyway, I'm really here to ask this: What about those of us who DON'T owe money and are still getting these calls? I just moved to a new area and the first number I was assigned was inundated with collection calls for the person who had the number before me. I changed my number a couple of days ago and already have had several calls from this Jamie Porter person, who was mentioned by other people on this board. So, what am I supposed to do? Keep changing my number? That's just not right. It's annoying and inconvenient...and it's companies like this one that gives all you collection people a bad name. |

To Guest first of all if I truly owe the debt I am obligated and will pay that debt. Second of all I was harrased constintly by a bottom feeder who said I owed a debt that I really did not owe. This is happening everyday in America. And thirdly it is illegal for any debt collector to talk to anybody except the person that owes the debt. It happens everyday were debt collectors contact family members (Even Neighbors) and disscuss the debt that the debtor owes. Me personally if I owe the debt then I am obligated and will live up to my obligations, but the reason why so many people when contacted by a debt collector ask for verification of debt is not only because it is the law that they must get verification but also there are alot of crooked bottom feeders out there that will attempt to collect from you even if you don't even owe the debt. It happens all the time and it has happend to me. It's terriorisim what they are doing.
