Well I now know I'm not the only one that has spoken with "Chad" .Lets give it to him he works hard! My account was charged off ,which it shows on my credit report for 7 years .Then Calvary Portfolio Rec. purchased it,how nice of them.I asked that they send me the copy of the purchase but they didn't.Now they have this "Chad" with Laurence Hecker to call.Well I never signed anything with them stating I owed Calvary Portfolio Rec. or this law firm anything.People please read this I talked with a lawyer and all this is, well it's a company out purchasing charged off accounts and then wanting their money back from us .What do they think we are ?Some kind of nuts! Oh I live in North Carolina by the way.I have even told them that I had some other bills and did they want them too. Another thing don't talk about people not paying their bills unless you know why!!!!

Default laurence a hecker

I received a letter yesterday from these people. This debt they are going after is 14 or 15 years old! The money I "supposedly" owe is something I told them from the start was not my responsibility and I'm not paying. I can't tell you how many threat calls I have had over the years from differenct collection agencies on this debt. One guy had me in tears and still pushed to get the money. I realize now that once a debt is past the time of collecting, the companies sell our names to collection agencies and this is FREE money for them. This does not go on your credit report; they are lying.

If they call you, tell them "Do NOT call me again. Send me something in the mail." When you do that, they have to and they are not supposed to call and harrass you anymore. I have saved some of these collection letters just to refer back to and they have give 50% reductions, 80% and even 90% to pay off the debt! So a $1800. debt could be satisfied on $180; yeah right, it's just money in their pockets. DON'T give into them!

You know your situation and if the bank or lending institute didn't get your money back then, you know they aren't getting it and if you go back to them and tell them you paid it, they DIDN'T get the money.

And I don't appreciate the one guy who said "If you folks had paid your bills then you wouldnt have to deal with a collection agency." Hey, you don't know everyone's circumstance and you have no right to make a judgment call. Unexpected things happen; that is life!

You cannot tell a CA not to call you unless you are at work. Cease and desists must be done IN WRITING. You got a letter from them...send them back an FOAD letter since it is out of SOL.

Default 12 year old supposed debt

I too have recieved letters form this collection agency! Brian Knight says pay up or we will garnish your wages! This car was paid for by the insurance company 12 years ago when I totaled it. Yes they are the "other Branch" of the law office of Laurence A Hecker, but can they really persue me for a car that was paid for 12 years ago?

12 yrs sounds past the SOL and it sounds like you don't owe this.do you have the proof still?if so make a copy and send it to them with a FOAD letter.if they try to sue take the proof with you and countersue.make them dip into there"cost of doing business"fund.

Default Atty L. Hecker

I got a call while my hubby was deployed looking for him. I told him, he was in combat and could I take a message. He actually told me all of the information. That is when I knew he wasn't legitimate! I can't call the bank for my husband's CC without being rejected because my name isn't on the card. Anyhoo~It was for a debt from 1985! BellSouth. My husband was 10 years old at that time, and never had a phone number in his name. I called BellSouth and they had no record of him ever having a phone. I let it go.

About 10 minutes ago, I got a call from the same guy, asking for me!!! In my maiden name, for a overdue verizon bill. I currently have verizon, but never before this time. I called Verizon and asked if they had a record of me having a phone in their system from 1999. They said NO!

TOTAL Scam! I am living proof they are just out to get money. To the person that listed on this site, if "we would pay our bills, we wouldn't run into this, well, No, I didn't pay, because I NEVER owned these accounts nor did my husband. Sometimes, it's a huge mistake that we got caught up in.

Default Deadbeat?

People like this give attorneys a bad name, and are the reason our legal system is so screwed up! The person who spoke to me on the phone was very rude. He shouted and cursed at me, as I held the phone at least a foot from my ear to avoid damage to my ear drum. It's a travesty that people like them can make money from violating other people's rights and claiming to be professionals. Any good attorneys out there should report this agency, as it clearly violates what good lawyers truly stand for. And as for my being a deadbeat, they could not give me any proof that I owed 23000 to MBNA. And I wouldn't give them a cent if I did!

Default Hecker is back

Laurence Hecker law firm called my place of employment yesterday. This was the first time I had ever heard from them. They knew my social security #, my current address, but began asking me what kind of work I do. I stopped this jerk here and asked if they could send me any evidence that this was in fact my credit card and perhaps any other paperwork re: this debt. He rudely told me that it was indeed mine and then finished his sentence by trying to make me feel about 1" tall. He told me that I should have "my daddy lend me the money to pay for this." When I mentioned an attorney he went on and on, mimicing someone else's voice saying that we are all alike, everyone he deals with... I calmly asked him to verify his name and my reference number and at this point he hung up on me.
I have dealt with my share of people in my life. I have lived and traveled throughout the world. No one has ever treated me so immaturely.

These b***hes are rude as hell. These muthaf**** s told me that i owed some money to a cc company that I never had a acct with. I called the cc company and provided them with the cc# on the letter and they said the cc number belonged to a entire different cc company and was not mine. Those B****es better watch how they talk to people. I will be reporting them to the BBB.

Default Lawrence A. Hecker Attorney at Law

I received a call from this organization on June 12, 2009 and was abmonished by the lady on the other end of the line about an old debt. I told her to send me a letter and finally hung up. On the afternoon of the 16th I received a second call from the same lady (caller ID showed name unknow) and she stated that they had already two letters. When I told her that I had never received any correspondense from that office she became abusive so I hung up on her. About one-half hour later my mail was delivered and included in the mail was an unsigned undated letter from the offices of Lawrence A. Hecker Attorney at Law. The letter was postmarked June 112, 2009. Suspisious right.
I sent a letter to that address and asked for all the information regarding the account that they don't like to furnish, regarding this account. I suppose that I will receive that second letter in the near future and will not get the information requested. My next approach will be to go back to the organization that they are contracted with and if they are reluctant to furnish the information and then the original lender. If that doesn't work a good local lawyer.

Default Lawrence Heckler Law Firm

Biggest shyster lawyer there is, attempting to frighten people into paying a debt that is no longer owed. Usually prays on the elderly and young college students who know no better. Point is they cannot provide the proper documentation to back it up. If they continue to call advise them you will be seeking legal advice from a legitimate attorney in regards to sueing his firm for harrassment. Whatever you do, do not pay unless advised to by a competent attorney. This shyster cannot report you to the credit bureau as the original creditor if you had one has already written the loan off.

Default Laurence Hecker is a FRAUD

THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS!!! DO NOT pay anything to them. What they are doing is ILLEGAL and FRAUDULENT. This firm has been harassing my brother for months. We called the bank that the account was through. Guess what? The bank informed us that they never turned it over to him or the company he supposedly represents.

To the idiot who said that we wouldn't be having this problem if we paid our bills, you really don't want to there with me. First of all, owing a bill does NOT give them the right to constantly call your house and harass you, call you names, and threaten you. It's called the Fair Debt Collection Protection Act. Look it up. Secondly, I'm not the one who owes this supposed debt. Neither is my father. My brother is. Yet, Laurence Hecker's office has threatened and harassed both of us. We were told that we had to get a loan and pay the debt. THAT IS BS! They have no grounds or right whatsoever to demand money from me or yell, demean, and threaten me. Thirdly, this law office is as crooked as they come. There are more than 1500 lawsuits currently open in five states against them. That ought to tell you something.
