They refused to accept it. I may have the wrong address. Or maybe they won't accept these letters. Anybody have an idea?

Just by the way they talked to me i don't want to give them a cent. I was on a payment plan with my bank, and my last payment i made on the 31st of July but it was posted as August 1st. So i get a call from North Star trying to collect the debt, when i tell her i don't know why my debt would be given to a collection agency, she insists that payment plan was with another collection agency and not my bank (which is an absolute lie). So i told her i need to talk to my bank and find out why they have given my debt to a collection agency, which is when she started to get hostile and insisting that i have to pay then and if i hang up the phone without making a payment it would be recorded as "refusal to pay without intent" regardless of how many times i told her i intend to pay, i just need to talk to my bank first.

This Co. Northstar is trying to collect from my brother, but they keep calling me on my cell phone, but now they even got my neighbor's phone # looking for my brother, here is the thing, my brother does not know my neighbors, and they keep claiming that my brother wrote their phone # (my neighbors) on an application for credit. how can we stop this type of companies???? this is harrastment!!!!! anyone with a similar story?????? any tips on how to stop this??????

Send them a Cease & Desist letter, Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested. If they call you again after the date on the green card, sue them and collect your $1,000.

Got a call from Paul Evans of North Star while I was at work. Told him I couldn't take calls at work - he threatened me with talking to Human Resources at my work. He is not an attorney - he gave me a number so I could have my attorney call him - a Verizon Conference Call number - no way to get in. I will find him, I will sue him and I will also sue for damages, as I couldn't function at work all day because of his rude, nasty and condescending behavior.

Any more info on these guys? They were harassing us for a debt not owed by us. Man's name was Jim Wisniewski or another time, he used Jimmy Wise, from Buffalo? Gave us the call back # 866-677-2569 X662 or his caller id 866-224-9822. We plan to take legal and criminal action.

If Northstar is continually harrassing you, why not harrass them back. I believe that their correct address is 4285 Genesee Street, Cheektowaga, NY 14225-1943. The only "Jim" working at Northstar that we have found is a Jim Colby.

These scumbags are the rudest, uprofessional, denigrating, foul mouthed bunch of thieves I have every dealt with. I will NEVER give them one red cent. They can call all they like, I have set every one of their phone numbers to "no ring" when they call.

Sam story as everyone else. Called me saying they were capital one ( no mention of "northstar ) and that they want to set up a payment plan for a debt with capital one. Then I look into my bank account and see automated payments to Northstar. I have tried three times now to have them stop automatically deducting money from my account. I have never dealt with such arrogant, stupid, pricks in my life. I've been called stupid, a moron, and an idiot and been hung up on each time. Doesnt matter how hard you try and stay civil with these pond scum, they just berate you and hang up. Still trying to get them to stop the automatic deductions. No luck at all so far.

i work for northstar collections and we are not a sleazy company in any apsect. If you people believe when someone tells you they are taking you to court then thats your own dumba.. fault we are professional debt collectors so get over yourselves and PAY YOUR BILL!!!
