OH Yeah and they are NOT a law firm. If you have anything in writing or any messages on the answering machine saying they are a law firm, call an attorney right away. You may be able to sue them and pretty much have the debt deleted plus they pay your attorney fees.

We just got a call from "Tera or Tara Wagner" from the Law Offices of Tyler and Morgan claiming she was an "Investigator for Tulare County Court" ...When questioned she claimed to not have said that, saying she was an investigator for the Law Firm of "Tyler and Morgan" When I pressed for the Atty information she hung up. 8:35 PST was the call time..Anyone with info please email me at email deleted - ND

I just got a phone call from these douchebags. I told them to mail me a letter with their claim and they said that they needed me to meet them half way. They said they could fax it or email it to me and I asked them to send it via postal mail. He refused and started to threaten me. I told him to go f**k himself. Im gonna call him back and threaten him. Screw these people and the horse they rode in on!!!

they are nasty employers and they teach us to say those things but protect ourselves by sayin 'potential legal matter' and that we work for the 'firm' of tyler and morgan to make you think LAW FIRM. you should always take care of your debt but dont belive anything they say

Since the courts go by the "least sophisticated consumer" standard, that may be considered a purposeful deception and you could sue them for the FDCPA violation and collect your $1,000.

But, since they can technically sue you in civil court, any debt collection is a *potential* legal matter.

They have been sued twice this year for FDCPA violations.

Here is Bud Hibbs page on them:

They show only 4 complaints on the BBB.

Well, then, "terminate" them in a court of law, and/or file complaints with the Bar, the state Attorney General, the FTC, the BBB, the Bureau of Consumer Affairs, etc.

Ok so this number that was telling you guys they were tyler morgan are now telling people they are County Legal Angelo Barron. THey leave a message saying that they have a check fraud claim, give a claim number say they are set to deliver papers to home, and if not there will be escorted to employer. Good luck with that one. A-we have never written checks, B-we don't owe anything, and C-they are relentlessly leaving these nasty messages. Report them! It doesn't do much good, but a sound piece of mind. I have never in my life had a debt collector that is legitimate leave a claim number, call from a phoney number and leave you a different one. County Legal in sacramento has never heard of this dufus and says they haven't heard of us nor this fake claim number.
