I have been paying LTD for an outstanding credit card I could not pay on due to being out of work. When I started paying, they said the balance was 1,700.00. I have made 1,050 in payments and they say my balance is still 1,300!!! I am also still getting bills and statements from the original holder of the card (sears). I called LTD about this and they said I am still getting charged late fees from Sears! Why?? I am paying $150.00 every two weeks to LTD for this bill. Is there anything I can do about this?

Do you have the receipts of the previous payment done to LTD Financial? You should speak to one attorney and resolve the problem. I am having this feeling that LTD Financial is trying to pocket your money by illegal means. I am wondering if they were ever authorized to collect on your debt. Show the receipt copies to Sears and request them to adjust the payments towards your account. Do all the communication in writing through certified mail and return receipt requested.
