If you live in California, you can sue these people in California. A few firms do this. One I called is Hyde & Swigart. They helped me a lot. I think their website is westcoastlitigation.com
Good luck.

We would like more information about your lawsuit. Our law firm is located in San Diego, California and we just filed an individual action against Credit Soclutions Corp. These baboons called me today about some $300 credit card, and that it was going to be $1,500 in legal costs etc. I was going to be served in AZ unless I setup payment arrangements. I yawned and said, ummm okay. I explained the fraud factor, and they said, it was my burden of proof.

Hi Jessica -

First off, we're not CSC. We're a community of folks who help people manage debt and other financial issues.

Have you received any communication from CSC, or did they just ooze quietly onto your credit report? How are they reporting on your CR? That will help determine next your steps. Based on your post, I'm leaning more towards this being zombie debt than identity theft.

Elida, if they reveal any details of the debt to an unauthorized 3rd party, they violate the fdcpa. The fact that they even stated they would is a violation in and of itself. What state do you live in? Do you have a recorder? Start recording the calls, they may end up paying you before its all said and done.

unfortunately I work this company. Though I need the money and the job for now it brings a smile to my face to see all these people suing CSC. Most of the people I work with are very uneducated and have even been blatantly racist to customers on the phone. I hate the place and cannot wait to get out.
