Wedding Coming Up Fast

PostPosted: Sat May 26, 2007 6:01 pm Subject: Wedding Coming Up Fast

My daughter's wedding is almost here, and everything is on target. Her bridal shower is June 9, and they're getting married July 20. The last few months just flew by. It's hard to believe it's almost here.

One problem: I cry at all weddings. It doesn't matter if it's family, friends, whoever. I decided to watch movies on TV with weddings in them and practice not crying. It didn't work. I guess I'll just have to get a big purse and carry a few boxes of Puffs in it. Any other suggestions?

Congratulations!! I think you should just go with it. If you didn't cry, people would wonder what was up!

Dbaker I know how exciting and stressful this is for you! My family become blithering idiots at wedding! I will never forget when my brother got married my sisters and I were all in the wedding and we started crying about a week before the wedding. We cried all the way down the isle (some kind cousin had the foresight to place tissues in the pew that we were sitting in) and all throught the mass. My brother did not realize how we were balling until it came to the sign of peace and he came down off the altar to give us each a kiss - he asked us who died! (lunch soon?)

dbaker - congrats on the upcoming wedding! My advice is cry up a storm so you can enjoy the reception afterwards!! Everyone expects you to cry at the wedding - it would seem strange if you didn't. I cry at Christmas pagents when my kids are in them - so I know darn well I'm going to be a blubbering mess at graduation, weddings, birth of their kids....

dbaker, When I got married, my mother cried through the wedding and the reception. When I asked her what was wrong, she told me she was so excited to get rid of me that she couldn't contain herself.

Thanks, you guys. Okay, Fins, I'll "go with it" and cry like a fool! Tweety, I'm stocking up on tissues as we speak. Moondanzer, I will send pictures. I'll have to find out how to send them first. I have a regular 35 mm camera and no scanner, but I'll check with Kinko's to see what I can do. I'd like to send some to relatives, too. Finallydebtfree, what your mother said is hilarious! Tania, the guy she is marrying is a dream come true. He's just an all-around nice guy. Irish, so I'll be crying the week before, too? Gee whiz! Definitely lunch soon. Let me know. Sue, if you cry at the kids' pagents, count on crying at graduations and weddings. I have my son's graduation this year, too. Okay, are there specials on kleenex anywhere?!

Thanks, Kyside. I've missed being here. And no doubt about it, I'm sure I will be crying up a storm. I cry at everything. My boys are just awful when we watch movies. If it comes to a sad or mushy part, they don't watch the movie - they watch me to see how long before I start to cry! Will send pic of me in my new dress!

Congratulations on your daughter's upcoming wedding! I agree...just let the waterworks loose! Nothing wrong with that at all.

As far as pictures, I started using photbucket and used the CDs I get with my pictures, download them on my computer and then put them on photobucket and then all I have to do is send the link out and everyone can see them and I don't have to worry about it taking so long to send the pixs by email.

Let yourself cry! It's good to express emotion, especially on an occasion like this. You've been excited about it for months now. Enjoy yourself and save me a piece of cake LOL! Laughing

Just don't pass out. I am fine until the music starts then I am a blubbering mess. Once I got to the front and was holding my husbands hand I went back flat on the floor.
Take your eye shadow and mascara so you can do touch ups between crying. And maybe a plastic bag to put all the used hankies in Wink
