Ok everyone say a little prayer..I am baking my very first birthday cake...let's hope it comes out ok or I will never live it down.

How did the cake turn out? I made the chinese chicken salad and it was great!

I made four....for a two layer cake. usually I order from this bakery but it closed. My husband's birthday is tomorrow and my sons is next Wednesday. I need all the practice I can get. I'm trying to convince my son an icecream cake would be a good idea. I am so not good at this baking thing. I broke one, stuck on to the pan and I have not had the heart to try to take the other two out of the pans.

Frosting will fix that. DOn't feel bad. I remember one year my mom spent all day making this 5 layer birthday cake and I went to bring it out and dumped it all over the floor. Now that is not fixable.

Oh Rox!! I hate to day this, but how about the bakery dept at the grocery store tomorrow???

Volley, thank you. I assume the avatar is in my honor. Well...atleast between the four cakes, I have two layers and if he does not like it he will wear it. The only reason I did not do a grocery store cake is he does not like frosting so I am going to use whipped cream.

How could some one not like frosting?
The gooyer(is that a word?) the better. Ok whipped cream is delish also. can we all come for cake?

My favorite frosting of all time is whipped cream frosting....cream cheese frosting is a close second as long as it isnt too sweet.

Here i go again***frosting frosting and more frosting. Is it any wonder i have 50 pounds to lose!!!!

I love cake. Whipped cream frosting is the best. I don't like the store bought frosting much myself. I like the whipped cream frosting that my mom makes from scratch.
