Hey everyone..I haven't been on a whole lot these past two weeks because I have a lot going on..

Work has been absolutely insane..I have had meetings like crazy and I had to go to court on 2 workman's comp issues. I was getting home later than usual and had to do the normal stuff like clean the house, make dinner, take Andrew to Karate and CCD. Plus, I am training super hard right now, I have a 35k in May, and some of you might remember that I had a bad hamstring in the winter..This is haunting me worse than I thought it would. Add the fact that I have been battling the nastiest cold for like 3 weeks..I think I'm going to lose my mind.

Anyway, the biggest stress of my life right now happened today. Those of you without kids can't understand, but those of you with them, please give me your input on this..
Ok, Andrew's birthday party is this coming Saturday. It is going to be a good one, 2 hours of laser tag and cosmic bowling. We got the invitations out last week, and everyone has responded. He invited 4 girls and 6 boys, all of them said they would come. Here's the problem. A girl in his class gave out invites to her party today. Same day, same time as Drew's. She invited every single girl in the class, and 2 of the boys, Andrew is not one of them..(That's no biggie, he doesn't like her!) Anyway, Drew is terrified that people will not come to his party because of this!! Honestly, the locations of the 2 parties are equal in coolness. I said not to worry, people have already RSVP'd, and they will go to HIS because the answered him first..Am I correct in thinking this? What do you guys think? HELP!! I am stressing out with worry here!

Fins, I dont have kids, but I will assume that they will go to Andrews because they rsvp'd and got the invites first.
tell Drew I will come!!!!!

Fins, I am with KAsh and Paul. I know as a parent I would honor the rsvp my child made. I would also hope that parents are aware of what a party costs these days and would think about that too.

Yeah - If the parents have anything to do with it, and they are even somewhat responsible, then they would honor the rsvp.

But if it was up to the kid, and they liked the other girl better, they would probably go to her party. Kids can be like that . . . .

First things first. Take a deep breath and a nice bubble bath. Relax. You can only do one thing at a time if you want it done well!

As for your child's party. Call and confirm with those that have already RSVP'ed. To hide your concern to the other parents just tell them you thought you may have put the wrong time or something on the invite and you were making sure it was correct.

Me personally I would have called the parent to say we weren't going to be able to go if I had RSVP'ed earlier because it's down-right rude to not show up after you said you would.

Then I would call the other girls mom and ask her WTF is going on. If she gets snotty tell her you will meet her in the parking lot after school to give her a good smack down. JKing! ... or am I? Shocked

Unfortunately, meeting in the parking lot won't work! The other girl's mom is at least 6 feet tall!! And BIG! I am NOT the most intimidating figure in the world! But hey, I can get some quick jabs in and I know I can outrun her! LOL, thanks for making me feel better.

UPDATE!!!!!!

I feel so much better! The Mom of one of the girls invited to our party just called..She said she realized that she had never formally RSVPd (she did, but this woman is busier than me and probably forgot!) And she wanted to give me a call..I ended up spilling my guts about the party, and she said not to worry, the other party was from 1 to 3, and Andrew's was 5-7! She said she seriously doubted it would be a problem. Oh, I feel so much better!!
