WOW!! That's nuts! I know people here drive to the Indiana border to get them because they are a lot cheaper.

I'm a smoker and it's really hard for me to quit. Maybe I didn't try harder. Too much things to think about... maybe it's just an excuse for me to smoke, I don't really know.
But I always buy the buy 1 get 1 here in Houston, TX for $6.45/2 packs incl. tax. And I smoke about 1 pack/2 days. That's about $1.61/day for me & about $48/mo and that's not considering if I didn't buy it on special!
OUCH!

I still roll my own cigs after tobbacco and tubes it cost me about 12 a carton. But the initial cost of the roller was $60 3years ago. I am sure by now it has more than paid for itself. As far as the mall goes our nearest mall is almost an hour away, so no worries there

There is a store that always has 2 packs for $6.03. I always get mine from there. Otherwise, I would be paying between 7-8 dollars for 2 packs. I go through about 2 packs a week. I'm not a really heavy smoker, but I can't seem to give up my 4 or 5 a day!

i have tried and tried to stop smoking and god it is so hard. the withdrawals are so bad. and right now by me being sorta stressed out over my financial situation, being without cigarette will probably drive me over the edge. i know you are thinking it is just an excuse, but i really have tried countless times.

granny, honey, if I quit smoking I'd probably drive over a cliff! So, no, it's not "just an excuse"! At least not for me either! Also, I sit here and chain smoke while posting. Guess it takes that cigarette to kick my brain into gear! Yes, it's expensive. Yes, I hate to spend the money. But, hell, I'd hate to pull a "Thelma and Louise" and drive off a cliff!!!!!!!

i2, I can just picture you sitting there rolling your own! I hope the cops don't ride by and see you sitting on your couch rolling them on your coffee table! LOL! They'd come crashing through your front door thinking you had drugs! LOL! Oh, I just crack myself up!

ROFL i actually had an officer question my bf about it about 2yrs ago...he was sitting on the front deck rolling cigs watching little one ride her bike. The cop saw him dip into the baggie then light a smoke. I guess there are not alot of ppl who do that, but after realizing the savings wow what a difference it makes
LOL...just thought about it...wouldnt that be a fun thing to go to court on to prove the dif in bags of tobacco and not other stuff....the judge would just be stymied let alone how the poor cop would feel ...wow that is too funny

I deleted the original post that started this thread. The signature was a sneaky way to get around the spam filter.

as far as the mall, all i can do right now is drive past it. i really didn't shop at the mall too much anyway, most of my shopping was via internet because i didn't have time to get dressed to go to the mall. the companies still email me with sales and send me catalogs, but right now, i don't look at them. i just go the my closet and find sometime that i ordered earlier that i forgot i had.

I usually only go to the mall when I'm buying presents for people. I'm pretty good about not buying things I don't need -- it's those damn Auntie Ann pretzels, Orange Julius, Mrs. Fields cookies and Cinnabons that I can't stay away from.
