I think you can see that they ask for no donations or money changing hands here, so your question of this being a scam is no.
We are just people trying to support each other in times of financial crisis', the administrators and moderators here are very helpful in directing you to the help you may need.

tigger, your caution is definitely a good thing. Always be sure to check a company out thouroughly before jumping into something. Check with the BBB, etc., to allay your concerns. However, a LEGITIMATE debt consolidation company can help you out immensely. Find a good company with a good reputation/track record, and they should be able to help you get out of your current financial trouble and put you on a path to become debt free.
