I used to work 3rd party collections. I scoffed when I read about people who reported agencies calling their bosses or relatives, or calling early in the morning. I just simply did not believe it.
I stand corrected. Allied has called my work numerous times in the day, even after being told repeatedly not to call. They refuse to call my home number. They have said, "I'll call you at work as much as I want until learn to pay your bills." When they threatened to call my boss, I thought it would just to be for employment verification.
Nope. Three days later, he calls me into the office, shuts the door and says, "Your creditor called me about your bill, saying you gave them permission to talk to me and that we'd pay. If they keep calling--you're fired." He also offered to document the call so I could forward the log to the FTC and attorney general.
They have ignored my DNC demands, and will call up to ten times in a day if they're in the mood. If they're unconcerned about the law so much that they'd actually call my boss, I wonder what other tricks they'd be willing to try?
