Saddness

My grandma called me this morning and told me that my grandpa has congestive heart failure and its in iis last stages. He has two values that are slowly leaking fluid and the doctor said that surgery was out of the question because of his age. Then she said that the doctor stated that he is in the 4th stage of dementia according to the test results. Which means that he is at times trying to live his life from earlier times. I guess the saying that live each day to the fullest is true. I don't know what I would do without him. He has been like a dad to me since I was little.

Tammy I am so sorry to hear this news for you. I know how hard it is to lose family members, I lost my grandpa 1 week after I got married, it was horrible. Please know that you are in my thoughts.

My grandpa is who made me turn my life around when I was younger. He had a hand of steel when I got into trouble. But when he tells stories about me growing up, he says he never spanked me once. We live about 690 miles away. I am hoping to go and see them over memorial day.

Tammy, I feel sad for you. It reminds me of my most favorite uncle who was struggling in his last days. Though, no one can change the destiny but its heart breaking when you see someone going through so much pain. You can comfort your grandpa by staying besides him. Maybe, your presence besides him will do some miracles and he will feel comforted.

Tammy,
I can't even tell you how sorry I am. I remember how painful it was to lose my Dad last year, sometimes the pain is actually physical. Just remember that nothing can ever change what he is to you and he'll always be there. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Oh Tammy, I am so sorry to hear about that!! My grandparents meant the world to me and it about killed me when I lost them. I miss them dearly but I tell myself that I will see them again one day and that gets me through...and at times, I feel that they are still here and part of my life. I believe that there is another life outside of this one and we don't 'die', we move on. You will see them again one day, hold on to that in your heart. And as hard as it is to let go, our loved ones are in a better place with no pain and no suffering. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Please let me know if I can do anything, even if its just to talk. Your beloved memories, will help you through this. hugs, shirley

I'm also sad too. My husband will be in Denmark until Wednesday, and I rarely see him already as it is, I just feel so alone. What's worse, is i had this dream last night about an old boyfriend walking back into my like, now I feel all f'd up.

Tammy,I am so sorry about your grandpa. My mom lives with us now and has congestive heart failure too. She only has 22 percent of her heart working now. The one thing I will tell you is,5 years ago, when they first diagnosed her, they didn't thinh she would live very long, much less five years with only that much of her heart working. She is the last ,other thatn a brother who is worthless,of my living relatives left,so I know how hard it is for you. What I do is, make the most of what time I do have count, and listen to as many stories as possible so I'll always have those memories. Best of luck and my prayers are with you and your family...Karen
