Default Aliied Interstate

Dear Sir,

for months I have been harassed with "person to person" and messaging phone calls from allied interstate. The problem is I dont owe any institution any money except for my home own that is a automatic withdrawal from my own bank checking acct.

Who do I go too when I don't own anyone any money?

Thank you
MJ Skelton

 I just got the same kind of letter from AlliedInsterstate saying I should pay Prism $61.83 which is 50% of the amount due. However my letter does not even say what I owe the money for.

I think I'll send it to the States Attorney General.
What do you think?

You tell them that they are mistaken, and don't take any sh!t form them because they tend to step out of the fdcpa line.

Like Ari said, arm yourself strongly with the fdcpa laws and deal with Allied Interstate. Don't show them your fear otherwise they will never leave you.

As you don't owe them anything, do the best thing by sending a cease and desist letter to their mailing address. Make sure that you send it through certified mail with return receipt requested. If they still contact you after receiving the letter, they will be violating the federal laws and you can press charges on them.

You can also record the phone calls for putting them in the best of their behavior. Check the laws in your state before you record the phone calls.

Default Just read

I had a Cingular account that I finally refused to pay. I had asked back in September 2005 that my corporate account be closed. I continued to pay my bills as I was guaranteed the account would be closed, of course that employee has long left the company, so I just quit paying.

Since this was a corporate account Cingular couldn't close it without authorization from my company. So, I figured the best way to cancel was to not pay.

I have not used 1 single minute on that account since September of last year, probably June 2005. As a matter of fact I don't even have the phone or the phone number. I spoke with Cingular, which was AT&T when my company got the phone, in March 2006 to cancel the service and ask that the charges be reversed. I was told that I would have to speak with my company admin. I tried calling Cingular several times but was not willing to sit on hold for 20-40 minutes. My time is of value to me.

It's not a matter of money, I'm sure you can do a credit search and that out for yourselves, its about not paying for services no longer needed nor wanted.

Since the service has not been used in almost a year, I still fell strongly that I should not have to pay. I hope Cingular can review they're records to validate this fact.

Since the service is now cancelled, which is what I wanted, I'll pay it. I'll send you cash, credit card, check, whatever you want. But I want a guarantee that this will not show up on any of my credit reports. If you agree, and in writing, and if necessary I can contact legal counsel, then it's a done tomorrow.
