I really think it time to use specific authentication every time you log in..i know it a pain in the rear, but these spammers (and deleting their junk) is a bigger pain in the rear.

I think that's a great idea, I for one know I don't need all the lovely products they keep spamming us with! Those of us that care to be here will be okay with whatever needs to be done to get rid of them.

Thanks Clay for deleting the spams. We didn't want to implement any specific strategies that might cause problems to our members and guests. But these spammers are now forcing us for it.
I will update the technical team about it.
Regards
Mike

The ones that posted today were REGISTERED on the forum....Not posting as guests...So SOMEBODY had to have done it by hand somehow right? I'm no computer genius, so I could be wrong..lol
It gets annoying...

if I recall, I don't think there is anyting that prevents automated registrations. By using a buffer where you are displayed a series of letters or numbers you must enter, it should at least seriously slow down those trying to registed to post spam, and the same thing to sign in should also slow down those who are already registered that are trying to post spam.

I think an on screen authentication would be more effective.. email confirmation would still allow automated systems to gain at least temporary access ,and once registered they could come back time and a gain.by having to authenticate (beyond user id and password) each time it would prevent automated systems from logging into the site.. Yeas it would be a slight inconvenience for us, but I would rather do this one extra step, than have to sort through all the spams to get what I am looking for.

I have to agree...I wouldn't mind authenticating during login in order to not deal with this crap anymore.

You would think, that of all the boards to spam, they would not pick one where the members known better than to fall for their trash.

Sometime back, I was seeing new spammer posting in the urls and the mods deleting it. Something was happens at each refresh. I got an impression about this forum to be the most active one unlike other ones. Good job, mods!! Go away spammers!!

I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that this board shows up on google when you search for something? If you type in "payday loans" in google, you will run across this site, and across those posts from spammers. Maybe that makes it an easy target for spammers...i dunno. Just a thought!

Maybe so...
it just gets annoying when you sign in and it says there are 85 new posts, and you go to see them and it's spammers.

They are at it again under the Florida Attorney General thread. I wish these spammers would get a life and move somewhere else!
