Ok folks, got a question, I have been looking for th answer all afternoon, and I still cant find it.

Does Ohio Require Collection Agencies to be licensed?
If So:
What is the statute to reference?
What Agency oversees licensing of Collection Agencies?
Is there an on line search I'm just not finding? Any help is greatly appreciated.

The collection agency must be licensed in Ohio before attempting collections. I have got some information related with this matter in the Connecticut Department of Banking website in www.ct.gov/

You can also do a search for the ohio division of financial institutions site. There is a lot of informative information on that website for the state of Ohio. I do believe a CA must be licensed in Ohio to attempt collections on an account.
