this company is definitely sketchy. i put a stop payment on my account at my bank, and they are now calling and harassing me. i offered to pay them $259, which i had already paid the $59 and now they are trying to say that i owe them $318. they are calling and harassing me at work, and i just keep hanging up on them. they are threatening me with fraud, because i told them that the number that they have for my employer is wrong. i told them that it was changed so they wouldn't call it. they literally said on the phone "can i talk to your supervisor". i said no.... he asked again and i said no. he actually expected me to walk over to my boss and hand that person the phone so he could "tell on me". i wasn't having it. i told him that their company's lending practices are illegal in michigan, and that he could either accept my terms or they would get nothing. i told him that i knew that the company was in the UK and he couldn't really do anything from there.

he tried telling me that he was going to have his "legal team" in new york come and garnish my wages. i said you hop on a plane and come and get it. i'm not going to let this company push me around for $200. no way. i'm not afraid of these guys.

i wouldn't recommend my actions to anyone else, but from my personal experience, i'm either going to pay them back on my terms (reasonable) or they will get nothing and they'll have to fight me for it. i've got nothing to lose. i'm tired of predatory lending.

I have research a lot of on line payday loans and I can said I did not apply to them directly, but they call me. I turn the loan down because there was nothing in writing of their policy that I could read and could not find anything on line. Things that comes too easy is not always in your favor. I say no to the offer.

i got into a bind and took out a loan with route 66. I want to pay off the loan, but the website does not information about the status of my loan, and customer service will not return my phone calls. The original loan amount was $150.00 and I have paid $59.00 seven times. I feel so stupid. I have put a stop payment on the account. I got through to the number posted on this page, but they will not take my payment. They keep telling me to call 1-877-564-7738, and of course, I can only leave a message to that number. If anyone has any suggestions, please help me.

Hey I got the same email from this company thinking that I would get a payday loan with ease. I felt funny about the situation from the beginning and I asked the representatives lots of question and he sort of rushed through it. I have not recieved any money and I called the customer service number twice spoke with two different people and told them I wanted to cancel the loan before any money goes into my account. Does anyone think that I should go ahead and change my account number also...

Good news! I finally got through to them. I had to tell them that I closed my bank acccount in order to get a mailing address. Actually they wanted to get bank information from a family member before they would give me the address. The address is the same Albany, NY one that has already been provided. I am sending a certified US postal money order. I have to send it express because it must be there before the 14th.I also put a stop payment on my account. I will never take out another payday loan. I advise everyone to stay away from this company.

Go through the agreement paper: is there any instruction about canceling the agreement? If yes, then follow it, or call them ASAP and inquire about cancellation procedure.

I too have fallen victim to this scandal. I was informed that the $59 extension fee was to be applied to the loan balance. Come to find out after four payments of $59 that none of this is true that, and quote, that isnt how we do business. Now after i have paid them $250 in fee's, i still owe them the original balance of $259.00. I sure hope there is a recourse for this because i intend to sue!

I too have fallen victim to this scandal but I haven't received the deposit yet. My bank suggested since there's no way they can stop the deposit that once I receive the funds, file a claim and have the funds sent back. If they try to deposit it again I will keep sending it back. Hopefully my bank doesn't charge too much to file a claim because I will do it until Route66 gets tired of sending it. Eventually I will close my account if it becomes a problem.

call your bank customer service and have them file a cliam against the deposit.this should have the money sent back to them and you should also ask your bank for the claim number and to send you a copy of the claim if they can.
