Valuable Information About Lawgistix

The following information that I am about to tell you is my personal experience with Lawgistix and feel that I have a right to share my story. I am not telling anyone NOT to use their service nor am I saying that if you use this company that you will have the same problems. I just feel that everyone has the right to know MY experience.

I can tell you that I signed up with this company lawgistix in oct of 2005 with 27 accounts filled with promises...fine. here i am, june 2006......received 3 warrants in debt and two letters of arbitration from another creditor. I had to settle my own debt with citibank because this creditor does NOT talk to a third party company. BE CAREFUL...........if you think your going to sign up and they are going to take care of things so you don't get warrant in debts from YOUR courthouse, your very sadly mistaken. I paid in over $1600 which was used for service fees. customer service once you sign up is not real quick to answer you. I had to wait almost three weeks after I received my warrant in debt with citibank before anyone from legal department would help me, then i had to negotiate my own settlement...halfway through all this mess I had dead silence from my rep and had to finish the deal myself!

Are they so overloaded with clients? probably. and i'm not saying NOT to use their services....I'm only telling you my experiences with them. I can not get them to answer me and I just turned it in to the BBB to GET them to answer me. If anyone has a question they may ask me here, and again, this is MY personal experience with them and I'm not telling you NOT to sign up or stop using them, just BE CAREFUL if you do!

PLEASE note: That even if your working with a settlement company the creditors CAN sue you and file charges against you. You CAN receive by mail a "warrant in Debt" and also receive this once it's filed with court by your local sheriff who will come to your front door and post it. I'm not trying to scare the B-Jesus out of you but this is true and factual since I have received TWO of them already and I AM a client of Lawgistix. I do not care what they tell you. They the creditors absolutely CAN do this to you.

It seems more and more since the laws have changed with bankruptcy, more and more people are signing up with these settlement companies and that's great but the credit card companies are getting tougher now! So PLEASE, be careful!

Just replying to bring this back to the top. I'm not trying to start trouble here, please do not think that. I'm trying to really INFORM people of what "REALLY" is going on out there! There are a bunch of very scared people out there that are in a lot of horrible trouble and they need to know who they can rely on.

I Have just been to a bankruptcy attorney and that appears to be the better route because if your credit score is in the 400's because of your debt and charge off's your better just gettting rid of it.

Hi quietsound

I wish I have words to console you. I can understand your mental state of mind. Do you have all papers signed with the company. Your contract with Lawgistix is an important explanation that they were responsible for taking care of your accounts. If they have not been able to abide by their role, why should be held guilty?? The judge will have to make the decisions looking into all aspects. I can see at this point that your settlement company is to be blamed, not you.

Don't feel down! Didn't you do everything that Lawgistix asked you to? Which point proves that you denied your responsibility? Give a thought and use the available facts for filing a case against the company.

I am sad with what happened with you. This can happen with anyone. Thanks for sharing your experience. It makes us a bit careful before trusting anyone with our money.

Thanks for your kind words to me. Unfortunately the contract states that I cannot hold Lawgistix accountable for anything that transpired here. Not for the warrants, not for their lack of service...nothing.

I did file with the better business bureau down there in Fla and I am asking for part if not all of my $1600 that I forked out. Heck, I could use some of that money for settling some of these debts! I stopped making payments to Lawgistix last month and I'm putting the money I would have been sending them into another account. Hopefully I can get out of this mess.

I just felt it very important to inform people and to be very careful who they trust with their money.

I wish I can be of any help to you, quietsound. It's the statement in the contract that made the difference. It was a risky decision by you from the beginning. You never assumed this to happen. Not all settlement companies make you sign mentioning a point like this in the contract. When you hire a company, they are accountable for all customer problems. They can't escape their back with a specific point. We must all know that the contract needs to be read very carefully before signing it. If something is not understood, get it clarified by an attorney for a clear understanding. A single point can make all the difference.

Have heard nothing yet from this company since I sent all reps that I have dealt with an email and filed with the BBB. No response whatsoever!

I have to question the legitimacy of the complaint, considering the chosen forum to complain in...complaining about someone elses company in another debt settlement organization's forum? If I were to bad mouth McDonalds in the middle of a Burger King, would you not wonder if I were somehow affiliated with Burger King?

Ironic Irony

I will clarify your point elaborately. Please correct me if I go wrong. This is a forum where we are given the opportunity to discuss our financial issues and find possible solution among the participating members. It doesn't seem right to think that a company offering a public board has issues with other companies that are discussed here. You can discuss about a company that has good reputation in the market. That does not mean this site has good business relation with them. These discussions whether good and bad are solely done by the members and visitors coming from all over the globe and the site offering this forum does not take responsibility of it. You will get your points clarified even better after reading the terms and conditions of this website. I have drawn my inference from here.

Ironic Irony... I specifically asked about Lawgistix as a company and their customer service. I had been conversing with them and I was trying to determine whether or not they were a good, reputable company. So I sincerely appreciate everything that quietsound has told me regarding Lawgistix.

Ironic Irony, this IS a true story. I have nothing to do with this site at all, I'm just a very stupid person who thought they could trust this company to follow through and help me. I am no different than anyone else on this site or any other person in the US who is drowning in debt. I trusted this company to help me. I am in WORSE trouble NOW than I was a year ago. As a matter of fact, in my "welcoming" packet there was a letter that said, sit back, relax as Lawgistix works for you....well I can tell you I am not relaxed at all. In fact I am so upset I'm thinking about running away.

Heard back from the bbb from Lawgistix....

We have no intentions of doing anything for the client. TheY are NOT going to do anything about this, they feel that the $1600 i spent so far justifies sending out DO NOT Call letters! They have no intentions of addressing the problem with their customer service employees.

so, there you have it! Be very leary about this company!!

I have been in same position w/ a company I will not name but the thing that I came to understand after a lot of frustration is, it was all in my contraxct that I signed. It stated that as the Industry changes the company might have to adapte to better assist me and it clearly stated that they can not guarantee that I will not get sued either. After being very frustrated and listening to the rep explain things to me, I understood and am debt free now and my credit is slowly but surely going up. You have to understand the difference between settlement and consolidation. You have to be willing for your credit to get horrible before it can get better and it helps alot if you have assets to liquidate. In the long run it is a lot better than bankruptcy because after all I did obtain all the debt and spent the money and if you do not pay it, to me it is the same as stealing. If they are willing to settle that's great.

Unfortunately my husband did this to us when he had this hairbrain scheme to go into business for himself after he retired and since I'm weak and can't stand up to him, I'm in this mess that he has washed his hands of. So no i didn't get to take a trip or anything. instead i'm left with headaches
