I I have been using Cash Transfer Center for about a year with no problem. However, last week I requested a loan of $200. Next day checking status of loan I was shocked to discover $900 was to be put in to my account. I called CTC immediately to rectify situation to no avail. The person I spoke to said there was noting they could do. But if I talked to a supervisor they could be some options. No way. The supervisor was very rude and unwilling to do anything!!! Made it a point to stress I would be charged NSF if I didnt have the money in the bank. Would bnot negogiate at all == funds weetn reven in my account yet. Emails are unanswered.I cannot afford to have them withdraw $1143 out of my account. I am willing to pay the $900 back but not the fees. Any suggestions?

Ps I live in Massachusetts where Payday loans are illegal.

Is the money already deposited into your account?

See if you can ask your bank to close the account so that CTC does not make a debit. Once it's done, you can send the money through money order.

CTC has an illegal business in US. Please read the different posts about this company and get better informed.

I can't add anything to that advice from mcranberra. I can say that CTC is ruthless when it comes to collecting. They are illegal and based in Canada and Malta. They will send a wage assignment to your job. It is not a legal document but some employers fall for it. They will call your refs. Send that money back ASAP and close that account. This is a new tactic I have not seen before.

Yes the $900 was deposited. I closed my account. However they did try to take $571 out with no success. I sent via fax to numerous numbers a revocation letter and have spoken to HR Dept who will politely tell them to bug off. I also stated in my letter I will send a certified bank check in the amount of $900.00 upon receipt of a correct address to send it to. So I am waiting...

Still wondering if these loans are illegal in Massachusetts. This site is great thanks for your info.

slowder/guest, it sounds like you have been doing all of the right things as far as closing your bank account, etc. I would do as you are planning and send them their $900 along with a letter explaining what happened. The only problem is getting a physical address for them. They would not give me one. They said they do not have access to postal mail!!!

yes getting the correct address is the tricky part. I haven't heard from them yet who knows maybe they will cooperate.
Cross your fingers!!! Thanks to all the info I have gotten from this site I know what I am facing and I am know their scare tactics. However they were wrong, I have the emails, faxes, etc. and am willing to give the money back. Ball in their court. Thanks again!!

Call them back and request to speak to a supervisor, I had this happen to me on a smaller loan. I had no problem getting it straightened out. Sometimes it is just the person who answers the phone. I may have gotten lucky though.

Good luck to you. I hope that they are cooperative and that it works out for you. Do what fedupinpa said and give them a call.

I actually called three times and asked for supervisor. All said same thing ,, nothing they could do.... think they read from a script. I did reach someone in payment services from Northway who agreed with me and saw that it was an error however she had to connect me to supervisor "Tracy" who would not give me her last name and gave me Malta address.
Since closed account however I havent talked to anyone. I thought they would call me immediately.

Well, at least they gave you an address. That is more than they usually give out. They told me they cannot get mail through the postal service!!! Send them back their $900 along with a letter explaining what happened and that Tracy verified this for you.

Update!! Received an email from CTC regarding my account. The standard notice. I called number given me and was transferred three times before being able to speak to someone. This person told me he was unable to do anything as my account is now in "Cease Collections" status. Huh? What does this mean. They now dont want the $900. I then was transfered to yet "another supervisor" and got her voice mail. Maybe my letter scared them as I mentioned legality of loans in Mass and cc'd the letter to the Attorney Generals office. Strange outfit.

"Cease collections" status, huh. That is a new one. I take it to mean that they are not supposed to try to collect on it but I don't want to assume anything. They are a very strange outfit. Maybe they realize how bad they messed up and just want to write it off? Anyone else have any feedback?

Got a letter from CTC they are "investigating my complaint" and will get back to me at a later date. Envelope post marked Canada. However no address or signature on letterhead and no return address on envelope. I am now wondering should I ask for a refund from them for the past loans I have received - it wont be much but every little bit helps.

Why would she give you a Malta address? LOL. The Malta government shut them down and ran them out.
