I received a notice from them today for a credit card account that is 5 years old. I think it is out of sol in VA. Has anyone ever heard of them, or do you know of a way I can find out if it is aa actual law firm or just a collection agency????

Check the date of last payment on this account. The SOL in VA is for 3 years. Has this law firm hit your credit file?

I don't know if it has hit my credit file or not. THe last payment I had made on the account was in 2002. Any suggestions?

Seeing your last payment activity, the account is surely past the SOL period. Under these circumstances, the company must complete the debt validation process before you notify them about the expiry of SOL.

Don't give them access to your account because im fught them right now to get my back that they took from me and never paid it to the account holder

They are indeed a real law firm. I am currently dealing with them now. However, you should contact them to find out why after 5 years someone is just contacting you about this debt.

I had a citi bank card when I was in college. I know most of the debt was accomplished in 2003-2005. A few months ago, around November I was contacted by this firm and required to set up a $500.00 a month payment until my 4 thousand and something debt was paid.

Why would you do that?
