shawricky---have you spoken yet to one of the debt counselors from when you registered on this site? About the overpayment--I don't know to much about this but I was able to negotiate a refund with a pdl because I overpaid and they were operating illegally in my state. Search the forums here (search button on left) and you will find lots of threads about this very subject.

I wish the state of Wisconsin had laws that would allow me to get some refunds. I looked at the Wisconsin laws and they don't have limits on anything for PDL'S. But one good thing I do have on my side that no other state has is CHAPTER 128. Just incase anybody wants to know what this is here is a link.

Wow - that sounds like a state taking action! While it would not be good for companies that are in this business if it became wide spread... wouldn't it still be a victory for everyone?

I'm all for states taking action to help the little people - I'm dealing with a state with absolutely NO renters rights and wish they would take some action in that area

It is a pretty neat thing, and it's something I can use to threaten my creditors with if they don't accept my payment arrangements. Interesting things is that I was made aware of it by my credit counselor from conolidation program I'm going through.

Thank you, stephanie after nationwide refused to enter a payment plan and called and harrassed me at work. I knew I had to do something and thanks to the people of the board and all the info.

So I'm curious, how did you deal with nationwide then? I know lots of people here have horror stories about them and I'm curious how you dealt with them? I paid them off through T&C.
