unsecured debt. how to handle them?

I am carrying credit card debts of $7200 and other unsecured debt $3400. At present I am paying 60% of my net monthly income towards repayment of my existing debt. I have my own house property in the city and I have two four wheelers. I want to consolidate my debt. Please suggest me, whether I should go for debt consolidation or enroll myself in debt consolidation loan program? Also suggest if I go for debt settlement program, will it have a negative impact on my credit scores?
