To the Guest...

You need to contact Ted Ellis Crosby & Associates (Investagators haha) immediately about getting proof of the loan that you paid. If they say they are no longer handling the account...mention that you know this and thats why you are contacting them. They'll give you the run around, but maintain your ground. Tell them you sent the money on such and such a date, and the fact that they tried to collect on an account that was far higher than what was owed is wrong. Not only that, but they sold the account to another agency.

Collection agenies buy these accounts (usually for .25 cents on the dollar.

So you need to tell your NEW collection agency calling you that you have paid this. Get a validation of proof. Be sure that you tell them you have paid this, and that only reason you're asking for validation is that you need proof that Ted Ellis sold this account even though it was paid.

Call Mondey Gram...briefly explain the situation to the rep, and that you'll probably need this call to got to the fraud department or a supervisor.

Once when you get everyone involved, hire an attorney. What Ted Ellis did was NOT a mistake. It was something that was ILLEGAL.

He can't say it was a mistake, because BILLERS DON'T MAKE MISTAKES.

I'm in the billing field, and stuff gets checked 3 times.

Let us know what happens next!

Quite frankly, I don't want to speak to these people at EC ever again. i have contacted my attorney, and this company it is placed with now was really nice and quite helpful. They had no problem listening to me and my frustration, they wanted my receipts sent to them, they were helpful and realistic. I realize that this was no mistake, I got taken. However, this was just one call, not several like with EC, no one calling to harras my family, no threats, nothing but a little confusion on their end due to the nature of this situation. Beside, doesn't it seem that EC is done or at least on the way out? It seems the loan companies went elsewhere probably because of the bad press. I feel ok about my conversation with these folks, and I did owe the loan company, if I end up having to pay it again to be sure it goes to the appropriate place i will. But I hope I can get my original payments returned if they can't get credited. This new company verified that they sent me a letter on 9/2.They were really considerate of my state of mind.

As long as you know that you are entitled to a law suit against them. Not for harassment, but for getting money from you and then selling the account. Getting way more than they were entitled to collect on. It's a good thing you have kept receipts and considering legal action.

Do you think it is prudent to move forward with the new company?

Before entering into any financial deal it is advised to do an extensive research by checking the listing of the said company in the FTC, BBB and other local government agencies.

If the said company does not have any consumer complaints filed against them, you can proceed further and contact them.

Before you enter into any sort of agreement, make sure that everything is written and there should be no hidden point. If anything is not clearly stated in the agreement deed, it should not be considered as legal and you should not be forced to accept the term later.

Be cautious and do a wise analysis before you sign up the agreement deed.

Roxette

Wait...you're going to call Summer @ Ellis Crosby?

This will be a paid trip. You're going to be a valuable asset to the prosecution.

I wonder if this will be on television since they'd have to be flying people from across the country to testify?

Let us know if you have any other information...

I still havent heard anything from the Florida Attorney General's Office regarding my complaint about Ellis Crosby & Associates. I left Summer a message, but she never called me back. I did get an affidavit from the Texas Attorney General's office last week and am in the process of getting it notarized and sent back. I also just received word from my lawyer today that he will be filing my civil lawsuit against them in a federal court on Monday. Should I still send in the affidavit to the Texas Attorney General's office even if I have a lawsuit pending?

They can't because they are undergoing legal action and are out of business. Please do not worry much about this. Read the various posts on Ellis Crosby in this forum to get the latest updates.
