To the Guest...
You need to contact Ted Ellis Crosby & Associates (Investagators haha) immediately about getting proof of the loan that you paid. If they say they are no longer handling the account...mention that you know this and thats why you are contacting them. They'll give you the run around, but maintain your ground. Tell them you sent the money on such and such a date, and the fact that they tried to collect on an account that was far higher than what was owed is wrong. Not only that, but they sold the account to another agency.
Collection agenies buy these accounts (usually for .25 cents on the dollar.
So you need to tell your NEW collection agency calling you that you have paid this. Get a validation of proof. Be sure that you tell them you have paid this, and that only reason you're asking for validation is that you need proof that Ted Ellis sold this account even though it was paid.
Call Mondey Gram...briefly explain the situation to the rep, and that you'll probably need this call to got to the fraud department or a supervisor.
Once when you get everyone involved, hire an attorney. What Ted Ellis did was NOT a mistake. It was something that was ILLEGAL.
He can't say it was a mistake, because BILLERS DON'T MAKE MISTAKES.
I'm in the billing field, and stuff gets checked 3 times.
