You can take the help of a lawyer who specializes in the lawsuits of fdcpa and FCRA violations.

Judy,

Unfortunately, like you, many others have paid Ellis Crosby. Do you have those receipts of your payments made? This will be needed when some other collection agency tries to recover money for this account. After showing these receipts, they will probably update your accounts with the bureaus.

Judy

Chances are, your account with Ellis Crosby has gotten sold to another agency for collection...or will get sold. ECA has been under investigation for over charging people on the collection bills, and as well as harassment. In the off chance your account gets sold (so ECA can make more money off you), you'll need the receipts showing that you paid ECA for the debt that was due.

Hope this clears it up for you.

Regards-
Mike

Hi MANUELA

Welcome to the forums.

Do not pay anything to Ellis Crosby otherwise you will be losing the hard earned money borrowed from someone.

Ellis Crosby has been shut down and a class action lawsuit has been filed against them by the Attorney General of Florida. Latest reports reveal that the company has gone bankrupt.

So, be careful before you send any money to the company. In any case, request for a debt validation before you make payment to any collection agency.

Hi SCOOTERLADY

Do not get scared by the call from Ellis Crosby. As per my belief, I thought that they might have been preparing for the dates of lawsuits against them.

Next time, when people from Ellis Crosby call you, tell them that you are aware of the legal actions against them and would like to pay someone doing legitimate business.

I have been through the threatening and abuse with Ellis, Crosby myself. It has kept me up nights worrying whether the police are coming after me while I am struggling to repay this debt. Thanks, everyone! I will probably have a bettrt night sleep tonight that I have had in a long time.

Ted Crosby has filed for bankruptcy. They have come up with a new name Anthony Galloway and Associates.
