I received a call today I think from them. I can't get a company name out of them but the number is 904-962-1498. When I pull this up on the internet it is a cell phone. I have already made a payment arrangement with another company that has sent me an actual bill. I have yet to received anything from this "anonomys company". The say they are going to have me up for fraud charges and bring my employer in on it because I used their computer and my work email address. They say if I don't pay $1400.00 by 3pm today then they will proceed with legal action. The legit collection agency says they are competing for my account and have now changed their name to Anthony Galo & Assoc....I am scared to death. What do I do to keep them from calling my employer? Can they call my employer?

Beware! Anthony Galloway is in fact Ellis Crosby. Do not pay them a dime. They are using illegal tactics to collect money from people. They won't call your employer. Read this forum and file your complaints at the FTC, BBB and the local attorney general office.

They also asked me to wire the info to the Interstate Wire Bureau in Wyoming....I am scared to death. Like I said the phone is a cellular number and I keep having to talk to different people, they claim they are on hold with my state and in the process of pressuring charges for Wire fraud.

Welcome to the forums. Sorry to hear of the problems you are having with Ted Crosby. He has no problems avoiding the law. He was in trouble under his other company Ellis Crosby & Associates, and had to file bankruptcy. I'm assuming they kept a lot of they money they received, as many people complained that they were now being contact by a new agency.

The next time someone calls you from Anthony Galloway & Associates, be firm with them. Tell them they are speaking on a recorded line, and that you are asking for their "mailing address". This doesn't mean their location as many collection companies will say they are afraid, and for protection/privacy reasons their address cannot be disclosed. Or you can ask for validation to be mailed to you, and you can then dispute it.

Ask as many questions as you would like. This is your right. Remember...if they fail to read you the mini-miranda warning, they have no right to collect.

Regards-
Mike

Well its to bad that certain people use these fast cash places for loans when they should know better.

If people would simply pay their bills and be responsible for their actions there would be no collection companies.

I actually went to one of several Fast Loan/Cash companies simply for the reason to find out how they went about collecting money from the people that failed to pay.

I was referred to Ellis Crosby by several of the Fast cash/loan companies, and they said they get results because of the border line tactics they use.

One so called individual stated to me that had a balance due to me " Its only Ten dollars, what is ten dollars" my reply was "Ok if its only ten dollars then pay me twenty instead of the ten you owe me"

I would be sorry to see Ellis Crosby go if that is what becomes of them, because I have used them for several year and got results where other collection companies failed.

Good efforts

Am I reading this right? Is the post above defending the collection practices of Ellis Crosby & Associates for their criminal acts?

If you are having difficulties getting your money back while following the law, then perhaps you should have stricter guidelines on who you loan to. Some people were only at default by accident, then all of a sudden they start receiving the treatment that you agree with.

If you applaud Ted Crosby for the way he trained his employees, and their "illegal" tactics, then you are just as dirty as he is.

Mike

The exact thing happened to me that happened to Enstyle. However, I did not even receive the money. The bank transfer was somehow incorrect. I was right and they were wrong but the "investigator" called my job 7 times in one day and made all kinds of threats! They refunded my money plus the Western Union transfer fee because I was going to contact my lawyer!

I just received a call from someone at home and the caller ID said James Taylor & Assoc and said the same thing, either have Linda or her atty contact me and gave an 800#. I wonder if they are related to Ellis Crosby and are going under another name. I had a call a few months ago from Ellis Crosby at work and told him the second time he called me not to contact me at work again and he hasn't. I contacted the payday loan company where I had the loan and paid them in full. I do not know what else they could be calling about, but, I am assuming it is the same loan.

SC Girl,

Since you have already paid the loan, there is nothing to worry about. Make sure that you do not have any more dues. Taylor James does not seem to be genuine one. Ask for some written papers that support their demand. Do not pay them by fear.

SC Girl

Ellis Crosby has been using many fake names to continue their business. These days, they are calling people from companies like Taylor James, Anthony Galloway and Associates, Interstate Compliance Bureau. All these are fake names used by the same company and you should be aware on how to deal with them.

You have the legal powers to take actions against this company. Put your complaints at the FTC, BBB and the state attorney general office. Many people who have been called by this company have already placed their complaints against them. I am hoping that the Florida Attorney General will take strict actions against them very soon. You can also consult an attorney in this matter and file a class action lawsuit on violations of the fdcpa laws.

Default Ellis Crosby Associates and Interstate Wire

Well I have one to add to this, I was threatened back in June made payment immediately to them. In Sept. they called me again stating I owed a loan company money, and I questioned them stating that I know I paid this in June....well the threats scared me so I paid it (again). Now today, I get a call from Interstate Wire Compliance stating I owe these 2 loan companies money...they threatened me but are willing to let me pay today. Well, I went back into my receipts and found that yes these companies have been paid!!!!!

Just keep your receipts, they don't seem too. I will be calling the loan companies to check to see if they actually ever got paid from these companies and will forward my receipts to them for proof.

Default FSM processing and United Lega

I am experiencing the same problems with United Legal who is affiliated with FSM Processing somehow. I had someone call me from United Legal yesterday and tell me if I didn't pay them by 11:00 that day, mind you it was already 9:30 that I would "go downtown" meaning jail. I work for a prosecutor's office and I know this is a fraud. I am having this company investigated by law enforcement.

The most unfortunate thing is everybody is not so well-informed about what is right and what is wrong. It's good that you already know the way they approached you is wrong. But there are people who pay these guys out of fear.

There should be mass awareness about consumers' rights among people. This might stop these illegal activities.

Please let us know on your outcome with this situation. Any information you can provide to us about a dirty company could, in fact, help several others who are being threatened.

Mike

Thank you everyone who has posted a complaint about the illegal collection practices of "Ellis & Crosby" or what ever name they are using these days. My call came from a girl named Tiffany who was the "assistant to the director named Mr. Russell Crenshaw. Once I was connected to him he proceeded to freak me out by saying I was going to be prosecuted for a payday loan that I never took out. The payday loan was actually taken out by a former roommate of mine. I have a police report about the theft and everything. When I asked him if I could send him the police report he told me that it didn't matter because all the banks want is money. The payday loan was through jvc processing and Mr Crenshaw told me it was now turned over to United Federal Bank. I asked him how much the amount of the loan was for and he couldn't tell me. I asked him if I could have the number of the company that originated the loan and he said it was out of their hands now. When it was clear to him that I was considerably upset he assured me that he was on my side and that he would talk to the Director of the fraud division at the United Federal Bank a Mr Bernstein. He put me on hold for 10 mins. then came back with an amount of 805.00. (fees, finance charges add ect) I told him that amount was impossible for me to pay and of course he asked what could I pay. $350.00 is what I told him I could afford. He said he would go in on the low end and see if "Mr Bernstein would go for $300.00 so I could have a little spending money in my pocket until payday. HAHA. He put me on hold again for 10 mins. then came back and surprise Mr. Bernstein agreed. While on hold it occurred to me that the original loan was fraudulent to begin with and the police report shows that so when he came back from putting me on hold a third time I asked him again if I could send him the report. He said no. Then I asked to speak directly with Mr Berstein since he was the one supposedly making the decisions. One more time Mr. Crenshaw "surprised" me by saying that I couldn't talk directly to Mr Berstein because he is a very busy man. I told Mr Crenshaw that I would need a few days to consult my attorney and that I would get back to him. What I actually did was researched online and stumbled across these postings going back at least a year OMG. Seeing that they were supposed to be suspended and still they are trying to collect debts in this manner. Its outrageous and I hope that something will finally be done to put a stop to them and all the other loan sharks and predators of the middle class that get by with blatantly disregarding the law.
