Yes, they called me at 11:00am Pacific time and told me that if I didnt have $830 by 4:00 eastern time(1:00 where I am) that I would be arrested on two counts of fraud at my place of employment. That was only 2 hours from the time they called. They asked if I had ever been arrested before that if I didnt western union the money, that I would be. And they emphasized that it would be done at myt place of employment and in front of everyone there. As Ive read through these postings, I was like many other people: sitting at work, trying to hold it together, on the verge of tears, trying to figure out how I could come up with that amount of money in two hours. I emailed my sister, no luck there, and she started making me think, and so I typed in their name in Yahoo, and found this site. WHAT A RELIEF TO SEE how messed up this company is! I cannot believe it! There is not a chance in He$$ that I will give them ANY money. I intend on repaying my debt, and always have, but will only deal with the original creditor. Not to a threatening, illegal company for 3x's the amount of the loan! I want so bad to call them back and give them a piece of mind, but Im more refined than they!!!!

I just filed a complaint with the BBB on Ellis Crosby. Is there any place else I should file one.

The things that this company are doing to people is wrong and they need to be stopped.

I'm so glad I found this site.

Thanks

These people called again today wanting to speak with my supervisor to idenfity me in a couple hours well I told them my supervisor was at lunch and I had turned this over to a lawyer and he would be in touch and he hung up on me. I filed a complaint with the FTC, I called the ACA and talked them about it and I am getting ready to file a complaint t the BBB Now I will pay me debt but not to people like this and I did just do a debt consilatdation so that should help out but is there any there else I should do to get rid of this people, should we have an online petition to get them shut down for there illegal practices and send it to the FTC I am not sure how to set that up but I think it is a great idea.

Sanchez called me again today, I work in a Medical Office and our phones were "turned over" to the answering service and Sanchez had them ring though the back line to reach me. I told her I did not appreciate being threatened yesterday to be arrested on 2 counts of fraud, and she said that she did not say that, that she said Process served on fraud. She also said they(Ellis) are on "retainer" whatever that means. She did however give me their address. I told her I would not put up with their harrasment and that I would deal with the original creditor, which she said that they would not deal with me. She said that she called yesterday to "make mutually agreeable payment arrangements" HA, I said no you called and said I had 2 hours to western union $830 or else. What a joke these people are. Once again I told her that I would not be threatened in my place of employment and that she could expect a letter stating not to contact me by phone here anymore! Thank You and have a good day and I hung up!

I got the same treatment from an employee at Ellis, Crosby and Associate, his name is Paul Epstien,
he had me so upset that I had to leave work. He threatened to have me brought up on felony fraud charges unless I paid $600 within an hour, he threatened to get my Job involve and said i would lose my job unless I followed his rules. he even called another person I worked with and suggested she talk to me and tell me how serious this issue was and that I needed to call him back ASAP,
After telling him not to call me at work he continuously did, fortunately for me he gave me his Fax # and I sent a letter to this rude s. o. b. Telling him how he was violating my rights and i have already filed a complaint with the BBB and will be filing a complaint with Federal Trade Commission.
He totally voilated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. First of all he is not a Judge, he cannot pass judgement on me with out a trial, second he has to stop calling should you tell him, you will lose your job due to calls, he can not contact anyone other than myself about the debt, most of all he can not threaten loss of employment, arrest, or jail time.
I called Mr. Epstien back and told him he would not be getting any money, that if needed he should go ahead with any legal action. i simply do not care.

Ellis and Crosby says they are lawyers ( when they are just a collection agency) and they have been threatning to pick me up within an hour, if i cant pay right away. ELLIS and Crosby thinks i am a HABITUAL offender because the loan comapnys are screwing me. But what they dont realize is that these loan companys are charging extra if you dont pay ontime. My orginal amount was $200, Ellis and Crosby racked it up to $560, just so they could file a suit aginst me. Its like they are doing it on purpose. GOOD THING I WORK FOR A LAWYER, and i have been informed.
THERE IS NO DEBT COLLECTION PRISON!
Ellis and Crosby has threatned to make me loose my job, and talk to my boss about it. In texas they cannot garnish wages without a court order. And they have totally violated a law.

Thank God for this forum. I have filed my complaint against Ellis, Crosby and Associates with the FTC and the BBB. These people are such low lifes and to think I let them get to me like I did. They had me convinced that I was off to jail. Phoned my attorney and he simply chuckled. I did phone them and asked for an address because my attorney is sending a letter and they wouldn't give it to me. Said they only could give me the fax number...go figure. I am ready to start a class action law suit if anybody wants to jump on the band wagon...let's bring em down!

Katie -

I just contacted ACA International, whom has apparently suspended them from collecting anything from anybody. They have suggested contacting my Attorney General...I am in the process. The sad thing is about this whole thing is that the company that I owe the money too, isn't going to get a cent from me until this is resolved. I will keep you posted. We'll get them.

I decided to phone the payday loan company and the old fart that I spoke to last week and setup my payment arrangement just so happened to answer the phone. He admitted to now remembering speaking to me and goes on to tell me that he will call his "collection agency" to have them not to call. I proceeded to tell him that it was too late, they already had and that I have filed a complaint with the BBB, the FTC, ACA and the States Attorney for Florida. He said it was his mistake and that he is sure we could work something out. They also don't like to be threatned. I agreed to pay him the $300 that I owe him...not $750 that Ellis is attempting to collect. He kept trying to talked...I got to hang up on him. However, I will not give up my fight. I am pursuing this matter. These people must be stopped.

Who was your payday loan with? Mine was with FSM processing and they don't want to have anything to do with me. When I told them I would send them the payment, they said they would just send it back, so screw them and Ellis Crosby. Looks like no one gets my money, I would pay FSM they don't want it and Ellis Crosby I won't deal with, sent them a stop calling letter and most probably they won't call you further.
