I am considering consolidating my debt, but am wondering if it costs me anything to do so, and if so how much? How much debt can I consolidate at once? If I have to pay you to consolidate my debt how much is it, and why do I have to pay?

Hi, well it is great that you decided to consolidate. You will be on your way to lower interest rates and lower monthly fees. From my experiences with consolidation, I believe that you do have to pay a small administrative fee. The size varies but I have never encountered a non-profit consolidation company that charges you more than 50 dollars for this fee. Some companies have monthly fees so you need to inquire with each company individually in order to learn their specific policies regarding fees. If you contact 877-No-Debt, you will get in contact with a customer service agent that is able to provide you with assistance and more specific information that could help you determine how much you will be paying. Now to answer your other question, I believe they charge a small fee because they need to support payroll for staff, technology expenses, and other incidental expenses to run a consolidation business. As you may know, running a business is far from free so they may ask for a nominal fee in order to help offset the cost of these expenses. If you choose a non-profit company, I am almost certain that your fee will not be high.

Hi ***** Welcome to the forums. debt consolidation program will be offered to you completely free of cost and there is no service fee for it. Debt consolidation care is not a non profit organization. At rarest occasions, you will be only required to pay a very minimum fee to the consultant. This amount is also found to be negotiable after a healthy relation is built between the consumer and the consultant. http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/fees.html The consultant negotiates with your creditors and reduces or eliminates the amount of debt by 40% to 60%. After reduction, he offers a perfect payment plan which is suitable to your present financial position. You will be only required to pay that much amount only which will be needed to erase your total debt. http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/benefits.html You can choose any number of accounts to be put into the consolidation program. This company does not require any specific amount to begin with the consolidation program. Regards Roxette
