I am sure that you remember the card systems security breach that exposed 40 million credit card accounts handled by the processor.
Well a few states are taking action and they are demanding that cardholders get a notice of the security breach. It was one of the largest security breaches ever ;however, this company is yet to provide consumers with a detailed explanation of what happened. Possibly because it is not demanded by national law.
In response, 2 day s ago, a group of 44 state attorney generals sent a letter to card systems demanding that they immediately notify all consumers affected by the security breach.
The letter also asks the company about the steps they are taking to compensate consumers and about the steps they are taking to prevent this from ever happening again.
