Hi anshu
According to FDCPA, collectors cannot threaten you for collecting payment from you.
Neither can they put pressure on you to make the entire payment at once. If they continue to harass you regarding your school loan , you can take help from legal authorities & take them to court.
For a student loan no collection agency can force you to repay the entire amount. It is within your rights to pay back the loan in small installments as long as you keep making regular payments.
However , since you are an international student you might not be eligible for same level of protection from FDCPA law. You can get this clarified by contacting a local attorney.
Hope this will help
Best of luck

Just keep making payments even if they are small amounts.
