Payday loan - what to do?

Guest, nobody said don't pay the pdl lender. Many people have paid well over the legal limits, and sometimes, more often than not, the pdl makes it difficult to pay back the loan. I was one of those people, I tried to payback my loan the fax number was bogus, the company makes it difficult so that they can continuously roll over your loan by not giving the correct contact information so that you can payback the loan. I believe if you borrow money you should pay it back, I don't believe in just getting something for nothing. There are even cases when the loan was paid back that the pdl company STILL continued to take money from the borrower. People have learned their lessons, believe me that internet pdls are not the way to go.

Guest, I hope I can also take from your post that you are not lumping all debtors in one category. There are those who abuse credit and don't want to payback what they owe and that is wrong. And there are those who abuse government assistance, that will probably never change. But I don't mind paying for somebody who is in need.

Borrow from reputable payday loan companies, and pay back the loan on time.

I don't mind helping anyone in need. But there are alot of people out there who abuse freindships family and whoever else. They cry they have not money then by a case of beer or gamble. Those are most of your debtors. Give the good people in the world a break. I have read this site over and over again and maybe 1 out of 50 or true people who were down on there luck and got in a bind the other are just people who take advantage of good people like us.

I see examples of this everyday with people I work with. They cry about being hungry but have no money. You feel sorry for them and buy them lunch. The next day they come and say how sleepy they are as they were out the night before drinking. I'm a single mother of three and I have never ask a person for money. I have taken out payday loans and have had trouble not on my part. But I get upset listening to some crap on here well they won't find me now I moved or I don't have to pay cause there not legal in my state etc. I guess I want people to know that there are good people out there that make mistakes. Not all of us are losers like some debtors.

Yes there is stuff to read, but it's not truthful for the most part. The people that post are like jurnalists, they embelish their stories to make them seem far more interesting that they actually are. I'm thinking they all did well in creative writing class.

Oh that's right - 99% of the people on here are lying and you and the firm are the only ones telling the truth!

Get over yourself, the firm conducts their business illegally and then posts on here denying such all the time. I suppose that is the easier damage control route for you all. They constantly avoids questions and try and turn the table on everyone else - pathetic.

I am thinking you really have a lot of time on your hands and business is slow resulting in your complete bull !@#$ postings trying to convince people you operate a legit business.

Amazing thing - we post all this information, with complete documentation and verification, but get nothing in return.

There is absolutly nothing illegal about the debt collection practices of Mr. Paul Kupfersteins office.

Words escape me when I think of how incompetent some people are.

When I see comments like the last one it just blows my mind how brainwashed these people who work for this law firm are - astounding!

Member LSUC, just clarify one thing for me.

In the Debt Collection Act for the province of Ontario, it states, "This Act does not apply,
(a) to a barrister or solicitor in the regular practice of his profession or to his employees",
This is the grey area that is under discussion. Is it regular practice for a lawyer to collect on bad debt. This is strong topic of discussion here in Ontario. Also, paralegals are waying into the discussion as well.

Is it your regular work routine to collect on bad debt. If not, then you are contravening the Act.

Comments, please.
