Good questions, I have wondered myself if there are two different Paul Kupfersteins. I've seen the ratemyprofessor.ca posts and have also seen another phone number listed for him besides 905-474-3535. If there's only one Paul Kupferstein in Markham, does he know his name is being used like this or is he behind it all? Liability Solutions' website refers to their "emplotees" rather than their attorneys. I have filed complaints to FTC, FCC, BBB, the state AG and phonebusters. I got a lot of good information from calling phonebusters, nothing when I complained online to them. Although they can't give you many details about Paul Kupferstein, they confirm he's buying old phone bills and he is under investigation. They also offer advise as to how to handle the phone calls from Paul Kupferstein's office.

honestabe2, thank you so much for sharing and please keep us informed. I hope the media attention will be shared nationwide. An earlier post asked if there's a way to get their money back, another post mentioned a class action lawsuit. What are yor thoughts?

I cannot give legal advice and am helping my friend with this - as a friend. I don't have a law practice; I work for the state government. That said, my thoughts as to getting money back, either individually or as part of a class action lawsuit -again with the presumption that this is indeed a fraudulent scheme in every case(something I don't know enough about yet)- is that one should contact an attorney, legal clinic, their own state attorney general, etc. Also, it appears that all of us should be reporting thesae incidents to the other sites listed here. I intend to further pursue the issue of whether there are 2 Paul Kupfersteins and if, so, whether one is using the identity of the other. One is listed at a law firm (on the Martindale-Hubbel website). Is there anybody in Markam, Ontario, Canada that knows anything more? Is Paul married to a Judy?

I located the law firm with the Paul Kuferstein through WhitePages.com, not Martindale Hubbell. The law firm is listed as both Berlin & Azoulay and Berlin, Azoulay & Kupferstein. The reverse address lists neighbors in both Unionville & Markham; I am not familiar with Ontario, perhaps they are the same? Anyway, I called the firm (905-470-9444) and left a message with Paul Kupferstein's answering machine. I asked him whether he was the attorney Paul Kupferstein related to the demand for money from Mr. David and if so to confirm this with my friend who received the threatening call from Mr. David. I do not believe that he responded. I am thinking of calling one of the other attorneys, but I hesitate to call this long-distance number (905-470-9444)again. I am hoping the Attorney General of Illinois (who we are working with) will get to the bottom of this. As to a coordinated effort, I think I will contact the national association of attorneys general. I am familiar with American authorities and becoming familiar with Canadian authorities. Hopefully, my concerns will be addressed. It is a little challenging dealing with an out of country attorney.

I recently got a call about 900 number charges that were never made from my computer. I was threatened with legal action if I did not send them $700. I felt like the whole thing was fishy because Mr. David completely refused to send me any proof or information about the bill. Paul Kupferstein was the only thing I could consistently get from Mr. David. He also said he worked for a company called Live Interaction. I hammered him with questions and accused him of being the originator of the 900 charges to which he got angry and hung up on me. I too found Liability Solutions Inc by searching the web with the phone number. I have filed a complaint with the FTC and the BBB of Ontario.

This Mr.Paul called my house and spoke with my 12 year old daughter. He said your mom is going to get sued for everything you guys own, if she does not call me back by the end of the day. She freaked and she has asthma she could not even breath to tell me what had happend.I called him back and let him have it.I am reporting him .

I am so sorry to hear that your daughter had to get upset like that. It is a lessoned learned however. She is young and hopfuly will learn from this fraud guy!!! Stay strong and beat these people!!!

I found this site and I too been bothered by this scumbag over 900 numbers.. I hear alot of hype on being sued. has anyone actually ever recieved any papers?? or are they just flexing muscles to try and trick people into paying them something? whos actualy being sued? Im reporting them to all the organizations I saw on this site.. including my atty general

As I mentioned in my earlier post, I filed a complaint with the BBB. At the time I filed the complaint I still wasn't sure who I was dealing with. The BBB's file matches the phone number and Address to a Paul Kupferstein & Associates. It has been five business days since first contact and they still haven't provided me with written documentation on the debt they claim I owe. In MN, the AG requires that they provide written documentation within 5 days of first contact. The BBB says they have 14 days to respond to my complaint. We'll see what happens. I will post as things develop, or as they don't develop.

For yourself and others be aware there are scamers out there. I do believe that these people were scammed and this company is making up a fake debt. It is common sense you should use it sometimes, that if multiple people are having the same problem with the same people then more then likely the problem is not with the people on this forum but with the people they are having the issue with. Please do me and everyone else a favor leave your negative comments to yourself. I hope you will never be in a situation like this and never have to deal with people harrassing you ILEGALY on the other end of the phone. And if these people really do owe this debt then you should also know that the way they are handling themselves is illegal and not factual. Go to some saten website and post your views there!!!!

I think these post are from Mr david and his phoney firm too.. after all, if you do a google search on him, this site comes up the most so if they are out there looking at themselve they will seee this site just like any others that find it and there are more and more every day finding this site..

Zack is an idiot.. and if Zack still feels this way, then Zack...send me your IP address and Ill show you how easy it is to put a dialer in your connection box and dial out of your IP.. its a snap and even if you have a decent firewall.. It can be done.. so wake up pal, these people have all been scammed and we are not taking it lightly, myself included. Im filing complaints with this crook. Im starting to believe there is some connection with him, ESBI communications and MMI... and the 900 calls, seems too many have this same companies billing them..

I just got a call from 'Mr. David' a little while ago. He left a message stating to call 'within 24 hours'. Gave the Paul Kupferstein name. I spoke with this 'gentleman' on Friday and he wouldn't tell me what it was about, only wanted to speak to my husband. Very rude, etc. I had to google the phone number to find out what it was about. We DID have a 900 call removed from our phone bill a few months ago.

What he doesn't realize is that the phone bill is in MY name. It is listed in the phone book under my husband's name which is who he wanted to speak to.

I was too busy when he called to speak to him but I'm ready for the next call. I think I'll ask him what he's wearing.
