Guess they have been fighting it all this time. I know they were trying to get others to join them to make it a class action but no one wanted to pay the lawyer. I don't think Charland was asking for much, just a bit to cover expenses. Oh well, good for them.
Does this really matter??? They won't get their money anyways, I know antoher couple who won against the Stantons a while ago, year or two, and still have not received their money. I am sure nothing has changed.
It really doesn't matter.....it looks like the only reason this case is still active and the $$$$ keep going up is because they are not forking over the cash.

Hi all
Has anyone done a 1099 for the balance that MMG/RMP took from you? I am thinking about doing one this year. I would like to know any information on how to do it, whom to issue it to and if you can include the start up fees. I cannot find a copy of my original contract with them. Please PM me if you can help.
Also can I list for this year?

Some creditors and collection agencies refuse to lower the pay off amount, interest rate, and fees owed by the consumer.
Creditors/collection agencies can make collection calls and file lawsuits against the consumers represented by the debt relief companies.
Debt relief services may have a negative impact on the consumer's creditworthiness and his overall debt amount may increase due to the accumulation of extra fees.
The amount which the consumer saves with the use of debt relief services can be regarded as taxable income.
