I received my letter from them asking me to sign to acknowledge that I want to cancel my account and that I understand that the set up fees and retainer fees are non refundable and that there is a $250 cancellation fee. I don't really agree with either statement, although, they are saying if I sign and return that the refund would be processed in 4-6 weeks, which is hard to beleive.

Any suggestions.

I had to sign the same thing. 4-6 weeks is an "estimated" which ought to be a year longer. The check I received did have the Texas address on it

I too just got a partial refund. Okay, I always give credit when credit is due. But we are still a little short here. There was no note saying "Hold on, we'll finish up" or "take this and deal with it".

I had to file bankruptcy because my debt that MMG/RMP was suppose to settle with my creditors was more than when I started with them. My bankruptcy lawyer said one you file bankruptcy your accounts are put into the bankruptcy plan. He also told me the companies like MMG/RMP are SCAMS. He is going to look into some things for me to see what he can do to help me get my money back. He also thinks they are in violation with the IRS for not reporting the money they get from us.

Lori,

Please ask your attorney to make sure because I think MMG can be sued in the state that you did business with them in. If you did business with them in MO, you should be able to sue them there.

Does anyone know what happened to worriedinaz?

Glad city kid and guest got some of their refund, the nasty little note was un called for though, it was and is your money so they should just pay it and let it go, I know what you are going through, still would like my 299.00 that they kept but we all know how that goes.

Worried, you might know. why would RMP send an installment check? Not the whole amount.

I have no clue why an "installment" check was sent to you. Maybe to stall a little longer. Maybe you struck a chord with someone at MMG/RMP, it's really a impossible answer to give. Maybe they are taking the few refund money sent out in a list based on cancellations. I doubt that though. Probably more that you struck a chord with someone with something you've said. Just be grateful you've received something back. It looks like the Stantons are working with the payroll co in AZ to settle the lawsuit in typical Stanton fashion. That's more of your money probably not going to be returned. The day will come when they can't pay anything.

Hey City, on your check in the lower right hand corner, did it say "by cashing this check you agree that this account is paid in full" or something to that effect?

Citikid,

I too only received a partial check initially... I kept complaining everyday, numerous times a day and finally 2 weeks later I got the second check. Keep fighting for it.

KristeC,

When you say you kept complaining everyday, was that via e-email? I have been e-mailing and leaving messages everyday with no response.

I also have had to file bankruptcy no thanks to this company! I have yet to receive any money from them. My attorney read their 'so called' letter...you know the one that states to sign & return & they will send a refund in 4-6 weeks less the retainer fees...my attorney told me to email them informing them that I was not signing this without speaking with someone (aka a LIVE person)that I could contact AND a letter from their company on some sort of letterhead. I've emailed them this information with guess what? No response! Imagine that!! I've also been told by my attorney that once I start the bankruptcy process, I cannot collect from them until the bankruptcy is final! I'M SO ANGRY!!! I received my first call from one of my creditors in over two years last week. I explained the situation to them, however, all they wanted to hear was that I was filing bankruptcy & the name of my attorney!

On the check I received it said "Partial Refund Installment". I made a copy of it before I cashed it. I cashed it with no problem at their bank.

I too filed bankruptcy but my attorney said that had nothing to do with getting a refund from mmg. They still should refund your money to you if they did not settle any accounts on your behalf. When I went to the hearing where the creditors are present they all said they have had problems with mmg settleling accounts. They also said that when mmg would tell clients that they had settlement offers to them that was not true. They also said since mmg was not license, legally they could not have power of attorney.

Worried,
No way would I have deposited it if it had "by cashing this check you agree that this account is paid in full" on it. Good call, I looked for that one. But no, as Guest stated, it had installment payment written on it.
