I just received a threatening phone call at work on my voice mail from Ellis Crosby & Associates and they left their # for either myself or my lawyer to call back. Should I call them back. I don't want to involve work but maybe they are already involved. Please advise what I should do?[/list]

You do not need to worry about it because their membership has been revoked. They have involved themselves in fierce actions and are trying to harass the people in every possible way.

Do not get afraid of them because they are undergoing legal surveillance. You can file complaints at the FTC and the DAs office for immediate action.

These idoits called me yesterday with case numbers. I never even borrowed any money. How did they get my information? When will they be stopped. I filed a claim with the FTC. I want to go to Florida to pay them a visit.

Did Ellis Crosby & Associates reopen their collection business. As far as I knew, they had shut down? Do they still have the same address? Do you have the new phone number?

Mike

I think they are operating under Anthony Galloway & Associates now.

Cease and desist letter is your Federal right as per the FDCPA law and it is sent to stop all the collection calls coming at your home, work or any other place of contact.

After you have sent this letter to the collection agency, they are required to stop corresponding with you. If they do contact after receiving your letter, it will result in a violation of the federal law and you are in charge of taking legal actions against them. Consult your attorney if it gets violated.

I just got a phone call this morning from Amy Sands of the Attorney General's Office 904-348-2720 and she wants additional information from me after forwarding my affidavit to their office regarding the harassment I received from Ellis Crosby. I have since then began clearing up my financial situation and am almost paid up to date on all of my bills but receiving the overage back that I paid Ellis Crosby would certainly help me out substantially.

Just wanted to see if anyone else had heard from the Attorney General's office and what sort of questions they are asking.

Thanks for any advise.

Chances are they want to seek further legal action against Ted Crosby. By the sounds of it, he has opened up yet another office, by the name of Anthony Galloway & Associates.

Mike

I was just curious as to anyone else receiving a phone call from the Attorney General's Office for more information. Obviously, they are still collecting information for the suit? I will be calling them back and will answer any questions they may have because I feel it is my right and obligation to set the record straight.

Thanks for your email.
