The first day Ellis Crosby & Associates called me at work I was off that day. They told my co-workers that I had a warrant for my arrest and that they better contact me and get me in ASAP! The next day the whole office was in an uproar b/c they wouldn't stop calling saying they were sending someone to "get me". After I had my local sheriff's office call them they were very angry and aggressive. I knew they were not legit but I was humiliated! I just found out today that there is an open law suit against them and will do what ever is in my power to help bring them down!

Nicole, considering the nature and intent of their call to your work, I would call an attorney and sue them. Ellis Crosby has no right to discuss your debt with anyone else but you, your lawyer or your spouse. It makes me so sick on how they keep getting away with this crap even though they are being sued by the Florida AG. I am suing them too for what they did to me. My case has already been filed, we are just waiting on response from Ellis Crosby's lawyers.

JD Marketing gave me the 800# for GTO Collections, who they said was now handling my account. When I called the # the message said Ellis Crosby and Associates.

It's better to deal with the original creditor rather than dealing with fake companies like Ellis Crosby or GTO collections and many alike.

I called JD Marketing, but they said my account was turned over to GTO Collections. I did faxed an settlement offer to JD Marketing this morning, but haven't heard anything from them. This may be one of the cases where a creditor sells the debt to a collection company. I have already filed a complaint against Ellis with the FL Attorney General, so until I hear something one way or another I'm just waiting.

I called JD Marketing again and they said that they understood that Ellis Crosby was trying to collect the remainder of existing accounts. She said that since JD Marketing no longer owned my account there was nothing they could do. I guess that means they sold my account to Ellis Crosby.

You don't have to pay to Ellis Crosby anything. Wait for some time till another collection agency is assigned to collect the debt from you.

I too was a victim of this horrific company. I had a payday loan of $300 and was called on 06/07/05 by Carrie Marcinkowicz, who's not with the company anymore, stating I needed to pay $1452.50 by 12noon PST or else she would subpeona my employer for my hard drive, ruin my career and chance of ever working in my field again, and would have me arrested for fraud. I told her I had never even received a letter advising of who would be handling the account and she stated it was not her problem. I freaked out, borrowed money from anyone possible and paid the money. I have been trying to obtain the settlement letter ever since but haven't gotten anywhere. I have been on pins and needles ever since, scared that I would still lose my job. I then came home from work the other day to find a letter from Accounts Receivable Tech stating I owe $1275 for this same loan. I went online to try to track down the address for Ellis Crosby so I could send a written request for the settlement letter and found all the information on this site. I now know my rights and plan to fight Accounts Receivable all the way. I only wish I had looked this up sooner.

I guess you might have not received any settlement letter from Ellis Crosby as they never paid to your debt account. But you must be having the receipts of your money sent to them.

You should keep these receipts in a very safe place as it is the only proof you have right now. You will be able to show it to any company that will try to collect money from you for the same account. Once they come to know the fact, they will update your accounts with the credit bureaus.

Hope that you are able to fight with it strongly. If you need any help, please let us know. Smile

PostPosted: Mon Jul 03, 2006 12:02 am Subject: E Dollars Direct only deducting finance charge!

I am new to this forum but have really found some valuable info! I currently have a loan with edollars direct and have had $90.00 deducted from my checking account every 2 weeks since 3/10/2006 with no pay down on the original $300.00 loan I got from them on 2/24/2006. Can they keep doing this and never allowing me to pay down on the loan? Does anyone know their actual website and what their payment schedule is? I am really desperate because the only info I have on them is their email address which they do not respond! Thanks!

EDollars Direct

fax (866)396-5597

If they don't respond to any of your emails or phone calls, you may have to put a stop payment on the account. After that is done, they will defiantly contact you. I was in the same situation in regards to getting a hold of some PDL's. Once I closed account or blocked their transaction, they contacted me.

Check for the regulations on pay day loan companies in your state, if they are regulated. If they are not they should fall under another type of consumer agency and there should also be regulations on the amount of fees and interest they can collect. Also you may want to check and see if they are licensed to do business in your state. If they are not, you can contact the state attorney general.

Shannon, explain this problem to your bank supervisor and he might offer your further assistance. He will give you their address details so that you can get in touch with them. If you tell him about these debits, the company can be blocked from making further debits. This way, they won't get anything from your account. When they will get in touch with you after not getting the money, ask them to show the previous statements of all the payments done till date and the balance owed.

They should provide validation of the account, amounts paid and remaining balance including a clear and concise explanation or listing of fees and charges to the account. If they refuse, go the your state attorney general.
