I just filed a complaint with the BBB of Florida. I plan on contacting the FTC. In case anyone needs the number it is 1-877-382-4357. Thank you everyone for all your postings.

Katie, what will happen after their 90days suspension is up? We will be subjected to their phone calls and harassing again? Will we have to start paying them? Any feedback from Katie or anyone else is greatly appreciated. I only received one phone call from them and I haven't heard back from them.

If the debt is valid, then you will have to pay it. Also, you will have to arrange payment for what you owe. Not what has been falsely presented by Ellis Crosby. I am sure that they will have to legally validate the debt if they wish to recover the money from the consumers.

SUNSHINE - You can exercise your consumer rights by filing complaints at the FTC, BBB, DA's office as did by many community members over here.

It has been two days and I still have heard nothing. I suppose, if they call again, in September, I will just tell them that I will only deal with them via mail and they will need to validate the debt before I pay anything.

Ellis Crosbys membership with ACA was actually terminated on August 9th, however this has no bearing on their ability to collect debt. It would be like getting kicked out of Girl Scouts or something basically.... They are and have been able to collect debt...The problem lies in how they are doing so. Use your rights and request your debt validation...In the meantime file those complaints!! The Attorney Generals office in Florida is actually taking statements and if you call them they will mail you an affidavit to fill out regarding your experience with Ellis. In the meantime, we do all still owe our debt, and nothing we are saying or doing will get us OUT of that debt, it will only help to ensure that they are A) Collecting debt in accordance with federal law & B) Collecting debt on a VALIDATED amount....Good Luck

Just to help alleviate and missgivings about filing complaints against this company. They do know they are suspended from the ACA and are just ignoring it. They think to continue doing business until September 1 and then everything will be okay. If anyone contacts you from this company, you would be smart to contact the original company and make arrangements with them and report the phone call to them also. Eventually the companies will stop using them if enough complaints come in...

Welcome to the forums. Please read the similar posts of Ellis Crosby in this forum and make yourself well informed of your consumer rights as per the fdcpa law.

Our community members have posted their recent experiences faced with Ellis Crosby and have taken appropriates measures to solve these types of problems. I assume that you will also be able to handle them more confidently after gathering sufficient knowledge from this forum.

I have been reading all of your responses, and I am also have problems with this company. They are very threatening and very unagreeable to make payment arrangements and wanting all the money at one time. They told me that they are actually a legal office and can have charges/??affavidavit?? filed against me and uploaded into the system and have me picked up immediately. I don't know what else to do. I have an appointment with an attorney on Tuesday to see what all my options are, can anyone tell me what has happened with their experiences? Has anyone else gotten a lawyer against them or actually had charges filed? Thanks in advance for any and all information. Where did you find out about them being suspended? I have been looking for that.

Welcome to the forums. You will get to know more about the atrocious acts of Ellis Crosby in this forum. Their membership has been revoked by ACA International.

ACA International is an international trade organization that keeps information about the credit and collection professionals having offices in California.

It is a government organization that is designed to educate the consumers, business professionals and various other agencies about the laws prevalent in the credit and collection industry.

If any agency is practicing unfair business, the ACA has the right to suspend the business. Ellis Crosby had been practicing unfair collection efforts and as a result their membership has been suspended by the ACA International.

Please file your complaints at the FTC, BBB, and DA's office as done by many of our community members.

Karen baker called my house this morning and stated that my husband got a loan and she needed to talk to him, I told her he was not home and I asked what it was that she needed she stated that if he did not call her back by 12 noon today that she would be filing charges of theft and he would be going to jail.

I have been ill for some time now and when she stated this I know my blood pressure went up!!! I told her I would have our lawyer contact her and when I said that she hung up on me... i got on line and found this web site and i am so glad.

I called her ass back and left her a long message and I know she didn't like it, I thank god for this web site, if anyone wants to call the bbb to complain here is the number 904-721-2288. The bbb shows that this company has a good record with them.

So if I can get you all to call and report them I'm sure they won't be in good standing with them again.

I will be filing a complaint with the attorney general's office on Monday. I wish she would call my house again, ever; she will get a word or two....

KIMTOBI - I also had a similar situation sometime back when people from Ellis Crosby called me and were asking for some kind of payment. I was already aware of their suspension and knew that they were involved in such illegal activities. I informed them that the conversation held has already been tapped and now I am going to my lawyer to seek legal advice.

Then, I said to him that I was expecting their call some time. Now, I am ready with the FTC online complaint form and after you leave the phone, I will be entering a complaint about Ellis Crosby in the FTC, BBB and the DA's office. He hung up. Very Happy

I just received yet another call from Ellis Crosby & associates in regards to a loan I supposedly did 'fraudulently" on the internet. I have since paid off this loan in cash and they are still calling. I told him he was to not call me at work any longer, he said I had mallicious charges against me? What do I do to have this stopped? I'm not sending anymore money to anyone. Please help

Did Ellis Crosby provide you any proof of these "malicious charges"? Please ask them to prove it if they want money from you.

Be rest assured that you are not required to pay anything. They are involving in all sorts of illegal techniques to recover money from anyone. I assume they are having real problems in running the costs of their business.
