This is interesting stuff! You mean to tell me that this United Federal Bank is really Ellis Crosby?
In the BBB site it is listed as Platinum B Services, collection agency in Big Pine Key FLorida. This is from the number I entered when they called me the other nite...I wonder if the investigator I'm working with knows about this??? Hmmm..

Cheryl, do not send any money to the CA until you have verified the complete details of the account. The CA has to provide proof in writing that they are authorized for this collection by the original creditor. Ask them to validate the debt in writing.

M1y Direct can be reached at 1-877-619-6584. Their fax number is 877-619-6583

They will NOT issue a warrant for your arrest because they CAN NOT arrest you for owing a debt.

Do you know which PDL's you still owe?

It really amazes me how the pdls think that threatening arrest and jail time will get them their money quicker. Their problem is we are on to their method and we are fighting back and they are not liking it at all. There is no debtors jail.

Has anyone heard any feedback on the outcome of the case against Ellis, Crosby, and Associates? I had mailed in my affidavit and still haven't heard any news about the case against them.

Cheryl, start recording the phone call of the CA after checking your state laws. This CA is violating one the fdcpa laws by not validating your debt in writing. You must have a proof against them not following the federal laws.

http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpa/fdcpact.htm

In most of the states, you can do the recording secretly. First, check with your attorney general office if you have to notify the CA before the recording is done. Don't make any payment until you have verified the debt in writing from the CA. It might happen that they are trying to pocket your money by not providing any proof. Some other company will contact you later for the same account and you will realize that this CA was not authorized for the collections.

I was wondering the same thing that Chocolate Beauty asked about, has anyone heard anything. I have left several messages with the Attorney General's Office in Florida but have received no reply or phone call back from them.

Please advise if anyone knows anything about the resolution to this case.

Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks!

No one knows about the latest activities of Ellis Crosby, I believe. One thing is for sure, they have slowed down in their collection calls as they were doing last year. Who knows, they are using a different business name. If that happens, it will be yet another fake one.
