Read this thread and know the scare tactics used by Ellis Crosby. Interstate Wire Compliance Bureau is one of the many names being used by this company for illegal collections.

Do not get puzzled. You have not done anything wrong for which you have to feel guilty. If you owe this debt, ask them to validate it. Send it in writing because it is your legal right in knowing the details of this account as per the fdcpa regulations.

If the company can send something to you in writing about this account which I highly doubt, you can make further arrangements on being valid.

The company is using all means to scare you so that you send money without giving a second thought. Browse through this forum and read some of the posts of Ellis Crosby. The tactics used by them is nothing new but they always prey on the innocent consumers.

Be aware of your consumer rights and if required, take legal counsel. You won't be sent to jail as they are threatening. You can file charges of harassment against them.

Roxette

If you look at 'myfloridalegal.com' they have Ellis Crosby & Associates n/k/a Anthony Galloway & Associates. They have the old Ellis Crosby address there also. I guess the Florida Attorney General has caught on to this scam for them turning to Anthony Galloway.

Be careful, this same company is using the fake name, Taylor James and Associates & Interstate Wire Compliance Bureau

If you hear about such calls with any of these names, you need to know for sure that Ted Crosby is hunting his prey. Do not get victimized and do not get scammed from these low lives!

Just FYI: Ellis Crosby is NOT the same company as Taylor James. However Ted Crosby does own/operate IWCB.

After a short time on this forum I am amazed at how many people have been victimized by crooks in the collection business. Taking it for granted that we are all mature adults here - how do you justify giving your bank account info to people over the phone, or accepting a verbal agreement in relation to
paying a debt, or not educating yourself in the credit laws, or allowing some collection agency misfit to bully you? With all the easily accessible info out there to help you there is no excuse for allowing these parasites to ruin your life.
They prey on the weak and uninformed and can only be stopped by arming yourself with knowledge of the law and your rights. Take a break from the TV and read up on your rights!

Hi B

Welcome to the forums.

Do not get scared from this company especially. Interstate Wire Comp Bureau in Cheyenne Wyoming is violating the federal laws in a number of cases. This company is using scary tricks to recover money from the people. Debt collection practice done by them is purely illegal and you should report it to the local consumer protection office. You should also submit your online complaint at the FTC and the BBB website.

Do not send any money to this company. You don't have any record of the account for which the company is collecting from you. And moreover, if you send money, it will go into their pocket. Later, some other collection agency will try to contact you for this account because this company will not update your account with the bureaus. So, make sure that you do deal with this company in the proper way and after knowing your legal consumer rights.

Here is a complete thread discussing on this company and their illegal collections. Please have a look

Frank, browse this forum and put a search on the name of the companies you are looking for. You will get their address details here.

Do not pay Interstate Wire Bureau anything. They are believed to be a scam and are being run by Ted Crosby. They stated doing business with this fake name after Ellis Crosby filed for bankruptcy. The Florida attorney general has filed a lawsuit against Ellis Crosby and we are waiting for the latest updates. Anyone knows the latest!

ECA is desperately trying to get relief in bankruptcy court but the Florida AG is fighting them tooth and nail. They have failed to remit the amounts they collected to their clients. Also, as of today, I confirmed that the AG does not have anything on Interstate and is unaware of any connection to Ted Crosby. If anyone has info on this, contact the AG's office.

I received a phone call from this real foreign accented man and he scared the bejeebies out of me. That I had a warrant for my arrest for fraud! I couldn't believe this. And everytime he went to talk with his "supervisor" he just clicked the line and I swear there wasn't anyone there. I have made two payments to them, but now after reading this, I don't think that they will be getting any more from me. I tried calling the 866 number also, and it's just a busy signal. Very very weird.
