I know someone personally who has dealt with them recently. She has to close her checking account and re-open a new one to stop them from touching funds in the account. They seem to have their own agenda and don't care what you have to say.

Also, if you go the bank you can file a report if they take money out of your account that is not authorized, and the bank will refund your money. In fact, they have to. Then the bank deals with the fraud from that point. If the withdraw was legitimate and authorized, I would suggest closing/reopening your checking account that they have access to otherwise the madness may never end. At least that was her experience.

Do you have a loan out with this company. This forum is not affiliated with Sonic. You will need to call their collection department called the E-Care. The current number I have is 877-377-3534.

I've read through all of your postings, did you not take this loan out yourself, or was your bank account frauded? Your enthusiasim re this company and the time you have spent investigating, posting information only goes to show that you seem to enjoy extending the situation - oppossed to getting it dealt with! If you are so unhappy-why wouldnt you do everything in your power to to make good on what you took out? Therefore cutting all ties with this company..

Closing bank accounts, unauthorized payments, is this not illegal?

the word loan in itself suggests that the money WILL be returnded.

Guess thats why I will never get myself into a situation like this. Thanks for all the info AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL !

Apparently these guys are trying to contact HR and force garnishment (which the FTC made illegal in 1985). Make sure that if they do this to you (ie. contact your Human Resources) that you get them to send a written request via fax or snail mail so you have proof they're violating the law. You can then throw it back in their face and tell them to screw off. Keep in mind that most US laws are backed by an international law or treaty.

Missy:

When someone defaults on a loan, the loan company said it could only be paid by Western Union. So why is it then that the loan company hits the account again each following payday. Each time the payday company hits the account it brings the borrower deeper in debt. This is why the accounts are usually changed.

Missy, you'll never truely understand unless you take out a loan. Most of us only got in trouble by this because they payday people ask what day we get paid, then take out the money at 4AM.

Guess the luck is really on your side. But the luck is on our side too. Sonicpday and E-Care have numerous complaints against them. The BBB now has the proper address located in Surrey, BC and Winnepeg, Manitoba. There is no person in Dublin, Ireland. Just a fowarding address and some guy who helped set up the website to make it have a Ireland IP address.

So what your saying is, they lent you money, you didn't pay them back and now they want their money?

Unlike you I have done my research and my understanding is this company only lends on a 2 week basis. Hense the phrase Payday loan.

Missy-

This is not what I was saying. I did take out a loan and it has been cleared up.

However not everyone goes the extra measure as I did. They asked my pay date. I told them the date would be the next Friday. My check isn't deposited till 8AM, and they took it out at 4AM. Now someone who doesn't have money there is going to get hit TWICE because thats how Sonic does it. Plus Sonic will incur their fees of $29/per hit.

So now they tell you can only send it in via Western Union. You took out a loan of $300 (x the $25 per $100) making it a $375 payback. You only make $400 paycheck. You have to subtract the $25/per hit your bank charges you.

You don't have the money. You figure no problem. They are telling me I can only send it via Western Union so I'll do it next week.

But here's the kicker...when you ask them to go to your account again, they tell you no. Once it's been sent over to E-Care, they can't hit your account again. BUT THEY DO...the following week at 4AM. So now...they hit your account twice and then you're charged that $29/fee twice.

This brings that loan up to $491. Remeber you only make $400/week now.

So what do you do????

I wasn't saying not pay it, but in a situation like this, you'd have to change your account number.

Missy, you stated earlier that I seem to enjoy investigating this company. Actually I do. I found it quite odd that the company seems to keep their corporate office a secret and their location a secret as well. I simply wanted to write a complaint since the Dublin, Ireland address keeps sending my stuff back (it was sent certified).

Anyways, I have taken out 3 loans with this company...all of which have been paid back on time. My bank dealt with them the first time, and the 2nd and 3rd times I told them my payday was that following Monday.

Gee whiz...
Ok, I get it---some people get on the board to bash us just for kicks---hey, we need the drama, I guess...considering we're already dealing with huge financial strain, harassment, identity theft and a social stigma...

Heck, tell us that we're losers, that we're bottom-feeding scum of the Earth and that we'll never amount to anything...I love a good joke Smile

Lindsey that is so true! A lot of them come in here and just immediately categorize as deadbeats and losers. Let them walk a mile in our shoes----- maybe a foot. Laughing

There are some people who just want to blame others..Be it on any occassions..They forget that while they are blaming someone with one finger, rest of the three fingers is towards them only. And it is a proven fact also

I appologize for your misunderstanding.. it just seems like if you can't afford to take out a 2 week payday loan - then maybe you shouldn't. I would assume most would be familiar with their finacial situations going into it...

I have bills just like the rest of you - I am a single mother with 2 daughters and let me assure you I HAVE DEALT WITH MY OWN FINACIAL HARDSHIPS- and am still struggling to keep my head above water!!!!
I live paycheck to paycheck like many others
and even though I really need this money to keep my gas on - after my own extensive researching I know how to say no!

Furthermore I cannot afford to compromise my situation in the event of a possible return. All of my money is balanced to the dollar- I wouldn't be able to afford any return fees- Thats the Bottom line. SO i have decided not to jump into this.
