Sonic Payday
Actually, If you want to know about Sonic Payday, try going to this website: ripoffreport..com It includes many reports on that company and the horror stories others have had to endure. Also it has addresses (there are many, including one in Dublin, Ireland) for this company. They are partnered with Coastline Credit, stationed in TX. I hope this helps, and good luck!!

This company is protect by Republic of Ireleland I believe. I am
currently dealing with them too. My VERY FIRST time dealing with them, they took out the money, or tried to, at 7am. They asked if I had direct deposit, and I told them yes, at 8am. So anyway...my very first loan was NSF. Luckily my credit union was nice enough to waive my NSF fee, and pay their $29 dollar whatever fee. I had a very hard time getting through their thick skulls to let them know it was their fault. The second time I didn't have a problem. This is the 3rd time dealing with them. Unforutntaly, I was unable to pay back the loan due to a separate issue with telemarkting fraud on my account. No big deal...I asked if I could pay 1/2 today (Friday the 5) and the other 1/2 on Friday (the 12th). They went on to say this loan is already past due. If you can't pay the entire amount by Monday, we will garnish your wages. So fine...I said. They contacted my employer and set it up. But I just found out that they also dipped into my account to collect for that again. They got 1/2 the money, which would have been fine on Friday...but when they told me that it was all due, and yadidada...I spent that money. So now I'm deeper in the whole with my credit union. The loan agreement does state that they can make numerous attempts, but why tell someone that this has already been assigned to wage assignment. I have contacted an attorney and they told me basically I'm screwed. (His actual words.) Let me know if anyone comes up with anything. I've talked to Joane, Tiffany Stone, Erin Kennedy, Carlos, some other people I couldn't understand and wouldn't spell their name out for me. I've began by letting everyone know (you might not want to) by stating that for legal reasons this call is being recored. If they don't like that, then you need to be given a number of the corperate office. |

Sonic Sucks
I'm actually dealing with them RIGHT NOW...I have 2 loans out with them for $400.00 each...My bank paid the first and I reloaned, then 2 days later my bank returned the first loan so I was sitting with over $1000 I owed them...I've been dealing with an Ivory Kerry there and she's threatening to garnish too...she says they will do a Wage Assignment however, which means they will take the whole amount...I'm basically looking for anyone who has loaned with them RECENTLY and had a garnishment...Do they really take ALL of the loan out, or do they only get the 15% gross that fed. (and IL. state in my case) allow? I'm only concerned because as a single mother I'm not in a position to have an entire paycheck taken. I am in the process of filing bankruptcy and Sonic is named as a debt I have, but I still have a couple months before I'm paid in full with my attorney to file....If anyone knows ANYTHING please let me know...Up until my default which I take FULL blame for, I had never had ANY problems with Sonic..they set my repay date up for 3-4 days after my payday to allow me to deposit my payroll checks since I didnt' have D.D., and were always very quick...but I can see that they don't take a good history with their co. to heart because they are certainly screwing me now...Again...if anyone can tell me what exactly I signed...that would be GREAT....

I would ask them to send you the documents that you signed. Also, I would have a converstation with your payroll dept. I am dealing with Sonic and thats what I did. They are extremely unflexible with any pay plans to pay them back. They basically take the attitude from the movie Goodfellas "F' You Pay Me!" As I said, I spoke with my payroll dept and since it is a voluntary garnishment, just tell your payroll that you worked it out with Sonic and not to garnishment. Its not something your payroll dept HAS to do. What I did is said that I am having a discrepency with a creditor and they are playing hard ball and are trying to garnish my wages. And if you see or hear anything from me to let me know. Fortuneately, I work for a smaller company and have a little more personalized contact with my payroll dept. The best thing is just be upfront so as not to catch your payroll dept off guard. If they know what is going on, chances are they will not process the request from Sonic. There is no need to tell Payroll the whole story, rather keep your explanation general and tell them its a mistake and not to process the garnishment.
There is actually 1 payday company that is pretty good. They are Payday OK. Their rates are reasonable and you can stretch it out as long as you need. Its almost like have a credit card with them. They are very easy to deal with and EXTREMELY reasonable. |

garnishment issue
How do they contact your employer? By mail? or by phone? Thank you for all your advice in this and I'm sure it's helping whoever is dealing with this company.

I think they have to do it by mail. If someone just calls your payroll group and says to garnish I dont think that they would.
