Default Superior Asset Management

My 85 year old mother recently got a number of calls from a Superior SOB demanding $488.00. for a credit card bill. They would not say what credit card, what bank, what charge, no dates; nothing but threaten her credit and a law suit, and, they said they will call her every day until she pays! (********!) And they demanded that a "phone check" was the only way to pay!!!
How many senior citizens would be intimated by this and just pay without proof?
This was repeated to both me and my wife who took subsequent calls. In another call, they said to her "you have no rights" And they demanded again that a "phone check" was the only way to pay now or face other chnages!!!

She is very capable, but I have been monitoring her finances for a number of years and know all bills are paid. She has excellent credit and would pay any valid bill.

I took two calls. I asked for documentation, they refused. And on each call they demanded that a "phone check" was the only way to pay!!!

I will take them on, with regulatory agencies, in the courts if needed, and notifying their clients of potential class actions suits resulting with by their methods.

Readers, if you have more valid complaints against Superior please post them.

J

Default SAM harrassment

I've been called by Pam Barnes from SAM 1-800-895-2989 everyday this week on my cell phone. She is calling for someone named Lopez, but doesn't speak clearly enough for me to hear the phone number. I was going to call back explaining that she has incorrect information. This morning I got the number. I called, but couldn't speak with Pam. The lady I talked to didn't talk clear either so I didn't get her name. I asked them to quit calling my cell # (Pam called again in 30 minutes). Four out of five people I spoke with were very rude & didn't care that they had the wrong number. I asked for the manager, but never got a name or was transferred. I was yelled at & hung up on several times (even by Pam Barnes!) I intend to report this to the attorney general's office. I finally spoke to a gentleman who took my information & said he would report these instances to their manager. He even apologized for their error. Good luck to everyone.

Default Settlement offer

Received a letter from Superior Asset Management to settle an account from AT&T. Indicates amount owed as $284.65, but willing to settle for $99.63. By phone they tell me this will settle account with no further effort to collect the rest and no further negative reporting to credit bureau. I am not sure this is true and feel as if I may pay the $99.63 only to be continually bothered regarding the remainder. It doesn't make much sense to me since I have offered AT&T $140 (which I felt I owned), but they repeatedly rejected that offer. Why would they come back with a lesser offer? Should I trust this resolution? Thanks!

clseckerson, you need to make sure if this settlement offer put by SAM is a legitimate one. Ask them to put the offer in writing first with all the account details. This will ensure that they really have the debt account of AT&T. Don't end up paying to the wrong company not authorized for this collection. If SAM proves its authorizations, you can go ahead with the proposal if that suits to you.

Default superior asset

I have also received phone calls from this company looking into my credit and putting collections that are showing on all 3 bureau's. How do I get the 3 credit agencies to take this off my credit history and prevent this again. If this is fraud, how does this work? Why haven't they been stopped? obviously i'm not there first! They say I had a T-mobile account that I never had!

mmartinez, if three credit bureaus are reporting the same account, the collection agency might have sent this information. This forces Superior Asset to give you the required information. If they don't validate the debt in writing, write a letter to the three bureaus that SAM has failed to validate the account. They will investigate with the company and get the actual details. If they don't receive anything, the account must be removed from your file as per the FCRA laws.

T-Mobile sold my account to SAM. SAM offered to settle the account for 50%. I paid the 50% in full. Today, over a year later, I received notice from an attorney's office requesting payment on the same account that has already been resolved through SAM. Help!

Mandy, ask the law firm to validate the debt in writing? Do you have proof from your side showing that the debt has already been paid off? This will make your point stronger and genuine.

Default Cingular

I had Cingular service for many years. One day I went to Cingular's office and changed my monthly plan to a cheaper one. Somehow the clerk at Cingular removed my free nights and weekends. I didn't have any way to know what he did. By the time I received my monthly bill it was $605.00 from an average of $59.00 per month. I attempted to work it out with Cingular but they didn't even return my calls. Now SAM is calling me twice a day. I am not going to pay this bill w/o a court order. There are some attorneys in Broward taking cases under the FCRA on contingency basis. Does anyone knows their names? I saw their names in the Miami Herald but I can' find it now. I sent a certified letter to SAM disputing this debt and FCCA stop calls. SAM has reported me to the credit bureaus but still I am not paying it. I guess I'll be one of the many million Americans w/o credit.

Default Superior Asset Management phone & address (Aug 2006 upda

For those having problems with Superior Asset Management the address listed in this thread (18167 US Highwy 19 Suite 200, Clearwater FL 33764 is not valid (I sent certified letter and it returned).

I am also having extended problems with this company. I finally connected with them at phone number 800-895-3103 and they informed me their address was (after a suspicious pause, a false-start, then finally I was given):
34 Miracle Trip Parkway
Suite 34
Fort Walton Beach, Florida 32548

Obviously this company changes phone numbers and
addresses like I change soiled diapers on my baby
so if this doesn't work, caveat emptor.

Good luck to all of you ex-TMobilers fighting
fradulent 'bills' and this back-alley sweatshop
gutter dwelling sleazeball 'collection agency'.

Default Collection with SAM

I received a notice from my credit monitoring service the SAM claims I owe $396 for a Martin County EMS bill dating back to January 2003. This is the first time I hear of this!

I was taken by ambulance to the hospital on January 2003. However, I was actually being driven there by a friend of mine who was pulled over by Martin County Sheriff's Office. He informed MCSO that he was in a rush to take me to the hospital. They immediately called the ambulance, even though I was not in need of one, as it was not an emergency. The sheriff said, "Don't worry this is a county service, and there will be no charge."

Following my hospital visit, I paid my hospital bills, and that was the end of it until a few days ago I received the collection notice. They never billed me! I'm willing to pay the $396, but I don't want this item appearing on my credit report. I have no derogatory items on my report except for this one! and its driving me insane. What should I do? SAM will not remove the item from my report, and the county EMS says they no longer own this account and it is upto SAM to remove it. SAM says they need direction from the EMS to remove it, otherwise they will continue to update this account showing a current date so it doesn't purge from my credit report after seven years.

SUSAN, you are placing your request at the wrong company. This is a public forum discussing about debts. It has no connection with Superior Asset Management.
