I read the companies disclosure and I apparently signed something saying I would not participate in any class action and no matter what state I live in, I am under their jurisdiction not where I reside. I think they have thought of everything. It looks like I lose this one.If not let me know. I hope this becomes illegal soon.

Rio sent my account to collections. I finally talked to someone today. She was very rude to me yelling at me and would not give me her fist name or ID #. I asked her if Rio was licensed in CA she said yes but also would not give me the liscense #. All she could say is I was just trying to get out of paying my bill. She also made it sound like she would be calling my work to harrass them. What should I do now?

Kara, please let me know what you hear. They have already taken $120.00 out of my acct., however, when I called them they said I still owe the whole balance of $300.00. I don't want them to keep taking money out of my acct.!!!

Kristin, explain the situation to your bank and close the checking account. Rio will take out money further if you don't close the account now.

Request your bank to dispute the debits with Rio. They will be required to clarify the amount withdrawn. If they don't, you have a legal case against them for debiting money from your account fraudulently.

The 800# for this company is 866-859-6129 there is a recording, but the mailbox is full so you can't leave a message. If you wait until after the full message plays you will be transferred to an automated system. You can enter your social and follow the prompts to find out info about your loan and change the due date and payment amounts.

I also had 2 loans with Rio. I have paid more than enough in interest to cover the loans plus the fee. They will not work with me. I live in NC and PDLs are illegal.

send them a letter stating that because pdl's are illegal in NC, your contract with them is null and void and as such you are requesting a refund of the amount you paid them over and above the principal. State that you are willing to settle this without involving NC if they agree to your settlment offer. give them 48-72 hours to respond.
