There is no record of Rio Resources being a member of the BBB. My husband began business with them and we have now lost 2.5 times as much as he borrowed. We borrowed $300, they withdrew $90 four times from our account and told him it was to hold the loan open, then they withdrew $125, $110, $140, and $135 from our account to cover the loan. That is a total of $870 taken for a $300 loan. DO NOT COMTACT BUSINESS WITH THEM. They are thieves

They keep withdrawing money from my account well after my debt has been paid. I now have paid 1070 on a 400 dollar loan! What should I do?

You can consult with your attorney and it is better to close the account which is used for debits.

I borrowed $200 from them over a month ago. I have now paid them back in full and some. Today as of the 20th of Sept. they took out another withdraw from my account of $110 for no reason. Does anyone have any info for me to contact them? Please HELP!

Hi Josh

You can contact Rio Resources at 804 687 3959

You can also try at the following numbers:

(604) 687-3959 or (604)408-0489

Do you have the receipts of your payments made to them? I think if you are able to produce this evidence, they will have to credit your account.

Regards
Roxette

Talk to your bank too! Be sure you speak with an account rep. You might also consider filing a report with your local police department or sheriff's office.

I think payday loans are a huge racket anyway, but this is insane for them to continue to debit your account after you have paid in full!

One more thing, you might call your local prosecuting attorney. Your State Attorney General, the FBI and the Secret Service. (I know the secret service thing sounds strange, but one of the major functions of the Secret Service is to protect the banking industry and thus the stability of our country.)

I spoke with someone at the number posted 9/23/05 and she gave me a 1-866-859-6129 as a number to get help.
I explained all the negative notes about this company. Of course she said this number would have a recording, but to leave a message and phone number and someone would call me back.

However, you can go through this thread to know more about Rio-

I have the # 1800 992-9482 I have the same problem. Rio Resources is the lender for $10 pay day loan and others I believe. They told me that if you do not contact them within 2 weeks to make a pay off they charge you a refinance fee every two weeks plus some of the pay down. But as we all know its almost impossible to find them.Isint this loan sharking? Illegal? They want $530 for a $200 loan. I dont think so. They said I would hear from their lawyer. I'll let you know how it turns out.

RIO also works with/for approvedtoa1000.com
To get your money back that they owe you should look to see if they are licensed in your state and if not.... contact your attorney generals office and the office of the state that they are claiming the primary address of the company. File complaints at the Attorney Generals office and with the FTC ( Federal Trade Commission).
Contact your bank and stipulate that the ACH withdrawals over the limit you were supposed to pay were not authorized and ask them to put the money back into your account. If you bank allows you to indicate "Fraud" on this account then tell them that you did not allow the remainder to be taken and file a stop payment on any future withdrawals from this company.
Hope this helps
