Yes, Erick---please explain your reasoning for coming on the boards and bad-mouthing us all?
If you're in debt or even once were, shouldn't you be offering more kind and encouraging words, rather than threats?

Like I said Erick...walk a mile in our shoes...then you can talk. But it'd be a mirable if your head could fit through your front door....creep....

Well he acts like Ellis and Crosby is doing the right thing by making us SHAKE in our shoes.
I mean come on we all know its wrong to threaten someone.
I bet he dosnt like to be threatened either

i beg to differ...if the shoe fits...the only financially responsible people on this site are the ones trying to sell their credit counseling services. well at first their services are free.

ERIC, there really is no need for that. Regardless of anyone's situation, we are all here for one reason:

Ellis Crosby & Associates.... They are extorting more money than legally owed and attempting to collect debts in an abusive and illegal manner.

I received a very disturbing phone call two weeks ago from EC regarding an outstanding balance on a payday loan that I thought was paid in full. Right out of the box, their "investigator" very rudely accused me of committing internet and check fraud and told me I was being "processed" in the State of Texas for a serious federal crime. He kept telling me an "officer was standing by" and that I was in serious trouble. To make a long story short,I was extremely shaken over the conversation and went looking for answers. I ended up here and learned that I was not the only one who had been treated in such a manner.

I have taken steps to protect myself and to pay up what I owe, but I refuse to work with EC. I have contacted the original lender to find out what the balance is and to work payment out with them.

That is my story..what is yours?

my story is i defaulted on only " one " payday loan, only one not 9 or 10. ive always been a financially responsible person so i never had major problems paying my bills. if you really want to pay your bills your creditors will work with you. i was contacted by ellis crosby by a idiot named wakefield & yes he was a @#! hole . i demanded to speak with his supervisor who took the time to handle my situation professionally and he allowed me to pay half and the other half the follwing week. i recieved a paid in full letter and end of story....no drama, no threats. i know i defaulted on this loan and iam not a deadbeat. my credit is pretty decent. i dont usually get payday loans & i never will again. id rather pick up a second job. these debts will not dissapear no matter what so even if its the original lender learn to pay your bills. its a good habit. some of these people have numerous numerous defaulted outstanding unpaid loans and they are hiding under the cloak of victimization. they are just hostile because they dont like being exsposed.

ERICK---I got a shoe for you and I'm about to shove it up your da** @$$! Seriously!

I'm 19 years old, and although young, make the same salary that is....well, more than double my age! So hell yea, I'm doin' pretty damn good! I'm an Army contractor...and a former DoD employee..how many people are handed THAT offer when they're 17???

You just shot yourself in the foot, so to speak. Way to go. Apparently you never learned of a little thing called "respect" when you grew up. IF you ever grew up.
Deadbeat dad? My father is a respected stock broker and my mother is a teacher---very respectable occupations, wouldn't you say?

So what are you, a garbage man? All talk and no walk?

I don't hate my life, btw...I'm grateful for every minute i am alive.

In light of Erick's (and other's) moronic comments, I'd like to commend everyone on this board for taking a step in the right direction. We're all going through a tough time, but helping eachother out in the process...with information, updates and shared experience. I've learned a lot from this board and the members and I'm very grateful I found it!

Good luck to you all!

Erick, you spoke to the same guy I did at EC, his name is David Wakefield. But at least you were passed through to a supervisor when asked and I am glad that person was professional and willing to work with you. My problem is David refused to answer simple questions I had regarding the debt, who the original creditor was and what company he was with. He repeatidly intimidated me with arrest and accused me of committing a crime. NOT ONCE was he truthful and honest with me about anything.

None of us would be in this forum if it wasnt for EC and their abusive and illegal collection tactics. We didnt call them, they called us. We didnt choose to be victimized. Granted, some of us may only have one defaulted payday loan, others may have multiple ones, but it doesnt mean any of us are deadbeats. I very seriously doubt a deadbeat would even be here.

It is already hard enough to admit you have financial troubles, but that is the first step in getting back on track. That is why we are here.

tracy i really believe u are one of the ones with good honest intentions. cant say the same for lindsey, dale & katie....after talking with wakefield for 30seconds i demanded his higher up or i informed him i would terminate the call. i know my rights. also i wanted to resolve this because i know that i owed this. also lindsey u sound a little immature with the name calling. some garbage men earn more that teachers and just because your dads a stockbroker doesnt mean he is successful so dont blow your horn so much. besides with all the boasting, why are u getting payday loans??

Erick, I beleive we all have good honest intentions here. The bottom line is we want to get back on track.

I have been struggling through a very rough finanical hardship these last few months and am doing all that I know to recover, but it isnt happening overnight. The last thing I needed was the call I got from EC and how they treated me. They accused me of stealing money and said I never intended to pay it back. They said I was a criminal and deserved to be punished to the full extent of the law. David repeatidly intimidated me with arrest, lied to me and embarrased me. I may be behind on some bills, but that does not give anyone the right to treat me like a hardened criminal. No one deserves that.

I'm suprised EC gave out that information. Usually they just say "they are not available, what can I help you with."

Has anyone actually ever spoken with Ted Crosby? I wonder if he even goes into his office. I do know that 3 people have left ECA since August.

Yes, David is the only person I spoke to at EC. From what I am told, David may not even be his real name. For all I know I could have been speaking with Ted Crosby himself. According to the lawsuit filed by the Florida Attorney General's office, Ted Crosby also engaged in abusive collection calls, I bet he never used his real name either. Either way, David is not the only bad apple at EC. There are others.
