Yeah...one thing true about fake names is that some customer service places that will release their location, will allow their employees to use fake names.
I work for Travlers Advantage Travel Agency back west and I used the name Josh Kerwin. My fake name and then my supervisors last name. It was fun...cause there were others had names like Nigel, Betty, and other fun names.
I do know however that OUTSIDE CALLS...are suppose to be using their real first AND last name. This may only apply to telemarketing.
Ted Ellis Crosby however is his real name. Perhaps that's why he calls his company Ellis, Crosby, & Associates...making it appear to be 2 people and their investigators.

Also, I have attempted to contact EC since the call I got from David. All I get is an answering machine. I mailed a certified letter to Ted Crosby complaining about David too. Did he bother to call me back? NO, dont think he will either. To be honest with you, I dont want to have anything to to with EC, I am sure the bad apples did not fall too far from the tree, so I would bet Ted is behind it all. The lawsuit says that he instructed his employees to use these tactics so I am sure he did too. There may be some nice guys at EC, but I havent spoken to any of them. Dont care to at this point. Once bitten, twice shy, you know?

Mikey, a debt collector is not allowed to use any form of false or deceptive means in collecting a debt. That means they can not lie about anything... who they are...what company they are with....what the nature of the call is regarding.....what the amount owed...etc.. Any misleading or false representations are violations of the law and EC is guilty of both.

Thanks Mikey, but I wont be calling EC anymore. I really dont have any desire to work with them. Besides, I have a lawsuit pending against them and they are already in big trouble in Florida. I just dont trust them. I am trying to work something out with the original creditor. Hopefully they will respond to my letter or assign the account to a reputable collection agency.

I would like to think that getting rid of the bad applies would solve the problem, however, in EC's case, it's a little too late for that. They are being sued by the Florida Attorney General's office. It takes alot to get sued by the attorney general. EC has been doing this for at least three years. Getting rid of a few bad ones within days or weeks of going to court isnt going to make it better. Ted knew his employees were abusive,he instructed them to do so.

Well...Aaron Free use to be the receptionist. I was just curious and did a little investigation a couple days here and there...on the internet, and calling. I finally asked Tuesday to speak with Aaron Free and got some guy with an awful southern accent. Like it almost sound half real and half fake. He said Aaron was his assistant...but later that week I was told that Aaron didn't work there and was transfered to Valerie at x204.
I do know that Ellis trains them to be abusive, but I think some of them left voluntarily. Either way...if they got fired, they can claim unemployment...or say they left because of the work enviorment.

the way i see it is its possible that everyone is doing a little bit of lying. the agency of course and also some of the consumers exaggerating thinking they will get some sort of settlement which believe me isnt going to happen. i put myself in the other persons shoes. if i owned the company i would probally file bankrupcy besides they have insurance then i would open somewhere else. if i were a person that owed this agency i would try to jump on the bandwagon to try to aviod paying. and believe me some of these folks has lots of payday loans out there and are in terrible financal shape living paycheck to paycheck. if i were a employee at ellis not doing too well i would use this opportunity to pretend to be a whistleblower & if i was the competition i would try to claim whatever i can to sink them..see lots of motives. allways look for motives. i learned that from my favorite show which is law & order.

i agree erick , there are usually motives involved all around the roundtable. i believe in our legal system however and the accused & accuser both will be under the microscope.

The topic for this particular forum is Ellis, Crosby & Associates, how he is trying to collect on accounts and then sale them to E-Max.
There are other topics...if you click at the top of the page where it says Forum...it'll list all of them.
