Sam,
Welcome to the forums. A lot of people are complaining about Ellis Crosby & Associates who are undergoing legal actions against them. They are trying to recover the debt from the consumers by harassing them and making false reasons.
My suggestion to you is that you check your latest credit report and know your latest financial standing. I hope that you do not have to go through the tough times as created by Ellis Crosby on many of the consumers.
Regards
Roxette

EMax Called me lst week a zillion times about the laon I have already paid to Ellis. Anyway, last week when they were calling I owed $330( I paid Ellis $560). They call again today and suddenly I owed $1600. I just laughed at them and informed them that I have requested validation twice and sent a cease and desist letter twice. So fat they haven't called today.

Interesting news.........Please be advised that on Saturday 9/10/05 I received a call from Emax again (as usual). I never sent them a cease and desist letter. I did however send ellis crosby one a month or 2 back and never heard from them again as they sold the accounts. I also emailed my complaint to the supervisor desk at Ellis Crosby email is - dsmolder(at)elliscrosby.com. His name is David Molder. i never heard back from any of them.
But on Saturday I mentioned the name Ellis Crosby to E-max and they suddenly got scared and apologized alot to me and said they will never call me again since Ellis Crosby is handling the account.
Folks.....please get in touch with Emax and let them know you are dealing with Ellis Crosby on this matter. It is much safer now that we have the Florida State Attorney general involved. Do not pay Emax or Ellis Crosby. If you don't have any money to pay you might even win $1000 from the settlement in the Ellis Crosby suit. I recommend holding off everything until we see what Summer Saladino and the State of Florida attorney general's office will do with the case. If you tell Keith who is the manager at Emax that Ellis Crosby is handling your account all the calls will stop. Then you should not be receiving calls from Ellis or Emax - so we can all relax.

What exactly is wrong with paying your bills? I spoke to both these companies, I did pay my bill. No one was rude to me. Do you think the rudeness comes from a simple refusal to pay back your debt?

If we don't pay the debt in time, we welcome the legal financial charges for it. But harassment and rudeness is not supposed to be gifted along with it.

I have Faxed 2 cease contact letters to The number for Emax, and they have called me once at work since then, and several times leaving messages at home since then.
I wonder if it is the wrong fax number??
Also, I always get messages from what sounds like the SAME person, with different names each time.....anyone else get that too??

I believe that cease and desist letters should be sent certified mail. Even though we have the fax confimation, we have no way of telling if anyone picked it up and threw it away.
With sending it certified we have a signature that proves someone received it.

Well, that would definitely be nice if it were true.
Does anyone have some solid information on this - or the latest news from the ECA lawsuit? My fiancee was harassed by these folks and we have an outstanding balance ... so it would be nice to shut them up with a nice $1000 "refund".

When E-Max was calling me consecutively, I unplugged my phone. I shouldn't have to do that, especially since part of my job description is taking calls. And not THEIR calls.
I don't want anything from Ellis, no money, no apology...I just want to see them go under big time...and leave us all alone.

Why do people care about this if they have nothing to do with this?

I am wondering the same thing Katie. Their comments dont do anyone any good here so what do they have to gain? No one here is a deadbeat, we are all trying to get back on track and the advice we get here helps us to do that.
First of all ANGRY MAX, we didnt call Ellis Crosby & Associates, they called us. It was them who chose to lie and harass us. And its not just people here who have had a bad experience with them. Try over 120 complaints just in the state of Florida.
An inability to pay is not a refusal to pay. EC has seriously and repeadidly violated consumer's civil rights for over three years and they need to be stopped.

You have to be respectful to all the users regardless of opinion.
(1) You're using all caps which is considered rude and agressive.
(2) Your opinion was intended to flame people rather than provide constructive criticism or provide support. This forum is for community support - not creating posts intended to anger members.
(3) I'm wiling to bet with a little bit of research you are a collection agency that is upset with the fact that we've found a way to deal with ignorant and unlawful collections.
If you wish to keep your posts untouched, please be sure to follow the forum guidelines. This includes posting in non-agressive text (ie. no "all caps"), providing constructive criticism or advice, or sharing your opinion if it is relevant to the discussion or if you have been involved in this particular discussion.
