Martin there are various discussions on the forum regarding this company that you may find interest in. Also keep your proof of payment handy and lodge a complaint with the Attorney General FTC and BBB.

If you gave them your checking account number, you may want to contact your bank and make sure they know it was a ONE TIME authorization.

Hi martin

Welcome to the forums. After knowing Ellis Crosby and their unfair nature of business in this forum, I am sure that you will like to take action against them.

Make sure that you have all the proof of your correspondence done with them. Also, record all the telephonic conversations with date and time and the name of the person with whom you spoke to.

I am sure they are trying to scare and collect money from you by intimidating you. Make sure that you are aware of your consumer rights and take legal actions against them.

Regards
Roxette

I had a phone call on the 8th from Lesile Shaw how said she was collecting money of a online payday advance company and that I owed $1103 but she would accept $440 if I could get it Western Union to her by the end of the business day. She also said I would never here from the payday loan place again, and they called me today to inform me of the Fraud of this company. I did the Western Union with my Mom's credit card and the stress my mother had to go through to do this for me.. I sent a email to the owner of the Company for Ellis Crosby: I will also call the Jacsonville Fl City Council on Monday to find out what is being done. I don't know about everyone else but I am pretty mad and upset.

Hi Diane

Welcome to the forums. Do you have the receipt of your payment made through Western Union? It is a very important proof of your payment made.

Please do let us know the latest.

Regards
Roxette

I just received a call from a Michael thomas from Ellis and Crosby regarding payday loans I took out. And I have been in contact with another representative from another collections company regarding the loans. Michael told me that they have a fraud case against this other company calling and that they were the correct company to speak too. Well when the other company called me today, I advised them I spoke to someone at Ellis and he told me about all these complaints against them. I want to make good on the accounts but now I am soo confused I don't know which company to send the payment too.

Hi rebecca1

Welcome to the forums. You can legally know the fact about any company holding your debt account by asking them to validate it. As per the FDCPA law, the collection agency has to provide you the complete information of your debt account with proper calculation of the interests and other charges. Also, they will have to produce of the agreement letter that the debt has been sold to the collection agency by the creditor. The SOL period needs to be proven in the said debt and that the collection agency is licensed to collect the debt in your state.

After all the necessary information is provided by the collection agency, you can proceed further and make payment arrangements with the agency.

Also, I will like to pull your attention towards the fact that Ellis Crosby is undergoing legal action and they have been restricted from doing collections. So, in any case, you should be very careful while dealing with them.

Regards
Roxette

I received a phone call today at work from Mrs. Amber Williams from Ellis Crosby. She told me I owe $1770, but I was to send $410.00 by Western Union today or they will have the cops come to my work and arrest me for fraud. I have been in contact with the 2 payday loan companies that I borrowed from and I have made payment arrangements suitable with them. Ellis and Crosby said I should not sent payments directly to the payday loan companies, but send my money to them. I've asked them not to call me at work, but they call everyday and my boss is getting mad! I want to pay back the money I owe, but I'm so confused!

Haha - does Ellis Crosby & Associates run a mafia ring or something? Do you honestly think a company can have you arrested? Just relax. These guys are notorious for being ignorant and over-stepping their legal boundaries. I would familiarize yourself with ths forum and all the discussions of Ellis Crosby & Associates before you make any payments to anyone.

Oh, and be warned that Ellis Crosby & Associates have been caught red-handed making posts on this forum as guests.

It realy should be remembered that there are two sides to every story. No one deserves to be disrespected, but some of the comments here are caddy.
We all need to take personal responsibility for our finances, and remember that this and other companies have a job to do and that is to collect a debt.If laws are being broken, obviously that deserves proper attention. However, many folks take the info here and use it as an excuse to not pay, instead of learning about their rights and using them accordingly. My personal experience with this company was professional and I never felt threatened. I don't work there, that's just the truth and another opinion.I will not put myself in a position where I would have to deal with them again, and if I did , I would expect that I would be treated with respect if I gave the same respect. It's my hope that everyone can find a solution to their particular issues.A peaceful and civil one.

Well, if they have multiple lawsuits and have had their collection license revoked they are obviously doing something very wrong.

Though I agree that using this forum to find excuses out of your earned debt is wrong, you must also consider that (a) many companies lure people into debt knowing they wont be able to pay back (b) many -if not all- collections harass the heck out of you ... and sometimes in unlawful ways.

This forum promotes awareness, as well as provide eachother with a support community to provide answers to their questions. I think that if someone was dealing with honest people around the board that they probably wouldn't be here and they probably would have been able to solve their issues directly with the company they borrowed against.
