Figured out ULQ is actually Redline Recovery. Wondered if anyone else has had issues with them cursing, threatening and calling after hours?

|
|
In October 2004, I made a commitment to Redline Recovery to pay 50% of my debt. They agreed, collected my money by withdrawing it from my account (BIG MISTAKE). After my 4 scheduled payments were done and collected, they withdrew more money without my authorization. Kelly Duggan was the account manager - As you may know, she's Redline's right hand man and she's a liar. She indicated that they would send me my statement stating that my account is paid in full and guess what, it's October 2005 and I still haven't received this letter and now another collection agency has this account and they're trying to make me pay what I have already paid. After almost 2 years of certified mail being sent to them including to their CFO, Howard Gibbs, I have yet to receive anything from this fraudelent company. So here I am, sending a two page letter to the new creditor along with a 20 page attachment of my letters send to Redline Recovery including copies of the cashed checks they received. Redline Recovery will stick it to you and now I have to get legal counsel of my own, because I'm being threatened by the new creditor.

Hi Redline
Welcome to the forums. It is necessary that you take the necessary actions so that your credit file is shown in a positive way to your future lenders. You are just not required to pay on something for what you have already paid. Moreover, you have the proof of your payments made.
I will also suggest you to explain this matter to the credit bureau that is updating your accounts. Basically, it is one single update of your accounts that will solve this matter forever. The credit bureau will conduct an investigation with your information providers and update your file as required.
You will get a free copy of your credit report showing the changes in your accounts. Send your explanation highlighting the entry through certified mail with return copy requested. In this way, you will be able to track your information.
Do let us know if you have any doubts regarding this matter.
Regards
Roxette

Havenomoney,
If you wish to keep yourself in safe side, you can record all the telephonic conversations held between both of you. Some state laws mention that you need to inform the other party about the call being recorded. You can confirm this information in the attorney general office in your state.
If it is not mandatory to inform about the call being recorded, you can list down the name of the person who called you. Recording the date and time will also be helpful. Later, you can present it to your lawyer and file a case against them on charges of harassment. Also you can file your complaints at the FTC, BBB and the state attorney general office.

This call from the Redline Recovery is nowhere related to you. So, you should send a cease and desist letter and legally force them to stop calling you.
As per the federal laws, they should stop calling you after they have received your cease and desist letter. If they call, they will be violating the federal laws. Some states allow recording of the phone calls. If it is permissible in your state, you can record the call and give to your lawyer for legal actions. If it is not permissible, inform the other person that you are recording the calls for legal actions. Make sure that you remember to inform him before you start recording it, otherwise, they will file back with charges on violation of the state laws.
At present you will have to draft a cease and desist letter. Samples of it are available in this forum. You can draft it accordingly and send it to their mailing address. Your letter should be sent certified with return receipt requested. You will know that they have received your letter on the specified date. This will work as a proof about the actions taken from your side.

They actually called back the next day I told them I had nothing to do with this bill so let me speak to a supervisor they say my number will be removed and they will not call back but do you think I believe that. I will get started on the letter after the holidays. Thank you for your help.

Make sure you send it by a method that makes them sign for it upon receipt.

Been in these shoes,
The best way is to send it through certified mail along with the return receipt request. Once the mail is picked, the company will have to sign on the green slip.

I have had several calls from Redline recovery that have been rude and very unprofessional. They threaten to contact someone in Waller where I leave. I wrote a letter and told them that I will not speak to the specific customer representative who was rude and that they needed to send me a monthly statement.
Can they do anything to you if you own property? I sent the first payment with a credit card number to doument all transactions. Any suggestions for me?

Redline Recovery do not have the legal rights to place a lien especially when they are hired by your creditors. Moreover, your personal property cannot be touched for recovering the unsecured debt except on certain situations.
However, since you are making the payments, there should be no reasons to take legal actions against you. Talk to your OC and see if they have received your money through the CA.

Yes, Redline Recovery is the worst. They call after 8pm (which is illegal in the State of PA). They curse, lie, and make ridiculous threats. I say report them to your local Better Bussiness Bureau and your State's Attorney General's Office. If you do not report their unprofessional behavior they will never change. I understand they have a job to do, but it is the way in which they conduct their business.

I just received a call from them to day. The said he was on "retainer" and that I was going to be sued. He then stated that they were researching my social security number. This is an old debt from Aug. 2001. He threatened to garnish my wages, and since I am not working that they can go after my husband's wages if we live in a community state.
