I have received a couple of calls from Jessica Hawthorne at Ellis Crosby and she stated that if I did not send in $235 by today then they were going to file felony charges. Now I know that in this state it has to be over $500 to be considered a felony.
From what I have been reading, I should not send them any money and I should not worry about this. I should go straight to the company that I owe and work with them. I just want to make sure that I am doing the right thing, I don't need charges against me or to be arrested. Thanks

Whitetigerwy, you do not need to send any money to Ellis Crosby as they are undergoing legal action. But you will have to be aware of the fact that you need to pay the debt owed. So, you can contact your creditors and make payment arrangements with them.
If they have sold the account, then they might not be accepting the payment from you. In that case, you will have to wait for some time more till your debt is sold to some other agency.

I would not send them anything. They are very unprofessional, unethical, and undergoing numerous investigations and lawsuits. They have also had their collections license revoked.
