Hi Everyone,
My story is pretty simple.I was married with two wonderful children, and one day my husband decided he wanted to be with someone else.I survived ,but slowly the bills became to much to handle alone.I filed Bk and seemed to be doing find for awhile. Then my car broke down, the kids were growing and needed new clothes, taxes were do,so not thinking I took out my first payday loan, then the next, then the next until I had 4 total and no way to pay them off.I realize now, that I could have done without a car and made ends meet somehow.I am slowing pulling myself out of this mess, but it is really hard.I have a good job and make enough to live comfortable if I didnt have the payday loans. My debt is less than $5000 with credit cards and payday loans. It seems like such a small amount but it is biggest stress in my life.I know I can do this, but its hard making my children go without some of the small things they need.Well thats my story, someday I hope to update it with a happy ending. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day.May we all be someday debt free.

Hi

You have such a nice family and it seems that you forget all the pains in life when you see both the kids and the cats. I have no doubts that your kids will grow up as responsible citizens under your affectionate shelter.

These financial problems are like separating clouds. They don't last for long and will definitely pass away. Though, it might take some time, but it will have always taught you something precious in your life.

Take care of yourself and your kids and cats.

Regards
Roxette

That is great to hear that you are pulling yourself together after everything you are going through. I do understand how hard it is to not be able to give your kids the little things. I have smaller kids (9,4,2) and it seems my love and time is enough for them.

Twokid, you've offered a LOT of very helpful information on this forum. I am very glad you have joined us!

My debt is also pretty small...but even the smallest debt can be the biggest stressor. I try to relieve my anxiety by not getting myself into even more debt. I knew a guy that was $32000 in the red...THAT'S bad.
Consider it all a learning experience. ANd hopefully your children will learn from it too. I wish you the best of luck!

TwokidTwoKat...you obviously have great kids, my debt is 10 times that amount but I try to look at it like this...someone else has much bigger problems than me (with my 3 dogs, 4 cats, Spanish Timbrado, 3 Rabbits, 2 Iguanas, and god knows how many kids depending on what day it is!!!)So focus on what's good in your life and just let that money go with a smile!!
Good Luck!!

It's true...debt does sometimes cause a headache. Some people just forget about the their debt problems, while slowly working to resolve it, and just keep smiling everyday. Till then, that's all you can really do. Thinking about it too much will only cause bigger problems in the long run. But starting today, learning that debt is something we should be serious about, will lead us to happier life in the long run.

Mike

twokidtwocat: You are lucky you found this forum before you went over 5000 dollars in debt. I wish I had dealt with my credit problem that early on in the game. You are a strong person...stay positive!

PostPosted: Sat Oct 22, 2005 11:05 am Subject: Update to my story

Heres an update to my story.I called my bank today and had my account number changed,so that the payday loan people cant get my money,I was also afraid that Usa benefits would hit me again.I called all 3 of my payday loan lenders and made arrangments to make payments by money order.Quickpay day and Payday Ok were very nice, and are willing to take payments, but I will still have interest,so I will need to pay as much as I can, they also took my work number of thier records per my request Surprised The third one has not gotten back to me yet,Gecc, but since I have paid them over 2500 dollars in interest this past year,I am certain they will work something out.Even though Im still in debt,a huge burden has been lifted, for now I know I can pay my regular bills and not be surprised when i check my checking account and there is nothing left due to debits and service fees.I will never take out another payday loan as long as I live.I feel like this my second chance to make things right. It will be a stuggle to make the payments on these payday loans, but now Im the one in control, and its a good feeling. Wink
Lastly,I would like to once again thank everyone on this board for all your help and support. The Advice I have been given by all of you has helped me thru a very rough time in my life.I have not made any decisions about my debt without coming here first,to get advice. The road is still very rough ahead, but knowing I have such wonderful support here, just makes me know that there is a smooth road in the horizon.
Thanks To All OF YOU!!!!!!!
